That year, the United States imported an average of 624,000 barrels per day of crude oil and petroleum products from Russia.<\/p>\n<div class=\"insert-box\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" class=\"img-fluid insert-image image-article_big\" data-entity-type=\"file\" data-entity-uuid=\"insert-article_big-610ed7bc-2527-4c28-a1ae-0a6f57f1213d\" data-insert-class=\"image-article_big\" data-insert-type=\"image\" height=\"494\" src=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/importsch1.jpg\" width=\"700\" \/><\/div>\n<p>The 670,000 barrels per day in Russian oil and petroleum products that the United States imported from Russia in 2021 was up from 540,000 barrels per day in 2020; 520,000 in 2019; and 375,000 in 2018.<\/p>\n<p>In 1992, the first year after the collapse of the Soviet Union, the United States imported <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eia.gov\/totalenergy\/data\/monthly\/archive\/00350503.pdf\">an average of only 18,000 thousand barrels per day<\/a> in crude oil and petroleum products from Russia.
