Guns are THE leading cause of trauma-related deaths in our country, and we can work together to save lives.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<p>The <em>Palm Beach Post<\/em> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.palmbeachpost.com\/story\/news\/crime\/2022\/02\/27\/advocates-call-gun-control-legislation-florida\/6965136001\/?utm_source=ourcommunitynow&amp;utm_medium=web\">notes<\/a>\u00a0over 50 people attended the rally where Angela Williams, the founder of MAMA, described gun violence in Palm Beach County as an epidemic.<\/p>\n<p>Seven people have been killed in firearm-related deaths in Palm Beach County this year.<\/p>\n<p>Williams said, \u201cWe can (talk about)\u00a0who died from COVID\u00a0and cancer and all these other diseases, but this is a different kind of fight because somebody is taking your life.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Other women attending the gun control event pointed to the February 14, 2018, Parkland high school shooting and called for an \u201cassault weapons\u201d ban, while others called for the repeal of Stand Your Ground.<\/p>\n<p><em>AWR Hawkins is an award-winning Second Amendment columnist for Breitbart News<\/em><em>\u00a0and the writer\/curator of\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/downrange\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Down Range with AWR Hawkins<\/a>,\u00a0<\/em><em>a weekly newsletter focused o<\/em><em>n al<\/em><em>l things Second Amendment, also for Breitbart News.
