If they had just got rid of the visa lottery 10 years ago, we might not be in this pickle because it would have demonstrated a certain amount of solidarity with disaffected members of the public.<\/p>\n<p>It would have signaled that the [the leaders] were listening and yet they\u2019re doubling and tripling down. When [Joe] Biden got elected, they introduced the most radical immigration bill \u2026\u00a0 So yeah, I don\u2019t think they\u2019ve learned anything.\u00a0Maybe it\u2019ll take an electoral annihilation in November for them to learn.<\/p>\n<p>But the Republican mass-migration crowd may actually be emboldened by victories across the board in November [2022] into thinking they can now get away their [more] guestworker plans.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Immigration is not merely a \u201ccultural\u201d issue, as the two authors insist.<\/p>\n<p>It is a Washington, DC economic policy that extracts consumers and low-skill workers from poor countries to offset the economic loss caused by Wall Street\u2019s transfer of high-productivity manufacturing and technology jobs to China. The policy also imports millions of compliant foreigners for the technology and healthcare jobs that might otherwise have been held by the alienated sons and daughters of the discarded industrial workforce.<\/p>\n<p>That\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/immigration\/2021\/12\/20\/washington-post-low-wage-employers-struggle-after-cheap-labor-bubble\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">economic<\/a>\u00a0strategy of extraction migration has\u00a0no\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/economy\/2021\/11\/20\/gop-donors-economist-immigration-can-offset-foreign-trade-risks\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">stopping point<\/a>, and it is harmful to ordinary Americans because it cuts their\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/immigration\/2021\/03\/12\/bloomberg-opts-h1bs-take-two-three-new-tech-jobs-each-year\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">career<\/a>\u00a0opportunities and their\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/economy\/2021\/04\/08\/elite-academics-hide-amnesty-wage-pain-americans\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">wages<\/a>\u00a0while it also raises their\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/politics\/2021\/06\/16\/new-yorks-mayoral-rivals-vow-cheap-housing-plus-more-migrants\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">housing costs<\/a>. Extraction migration also curbs Americans\u2019\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/economy\/2020\/07\/11\/president-trump-wins-big-on-secret-meatpacking-robots\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">productivity<\/a>, shrinks their political\u00a0<a class=\"x5l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/search?q=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.breitbart.com+%22john+binder%22+%22demographic+change%22&#038;rlz=1C5CHFA_enUS946US946&#038;oq=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.breitbart.com+%22john+binder%22+%22demographic+change%22&#038;aqs=chrome..69i57j69i58.10228j0j4&#038;sourceid=chrome&#038;ie=UTF-8\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener external\">clout<\/a>, and widens the regional wealth\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/politics\/2021\/08\/13\/zuckerbergs-data-says-amnesty-gives-economic-windfall-coastal-democratic-states\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">gaps<\/a>\u00a0between the Democrats\u2019 coastal states and the Republicans\u2019\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/economy\/2022\/01\/10\/former-steeltown-seeks-afghans-to-replace-americans\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">heartland<\/a>\u00a0states.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B3\" class=\"a8d adSo\"><\/figure>\n<p>Unsurprisingly, a\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/politics\/2020\/03\/30\/harvard-harris-poll-5-in-6-americans-want-to-end-immigration-from-mexico\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">wide<\/a>\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/immigration\/2021\/01\/14\/poll-americans-want-companies-hire-americans-before-migrants\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">variety<\/a>\u00a0of\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/politics\/2020\/04\/13\/ipsos-poll-nearly-8-in-10-americans-want-immigration-moratorium-for-u-s\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">polls<\/a>\u00a0do\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/politics\/2019\/08\/05\/poll-swing-voters-hugely-oppose-2020-democrats-promising-more-immigration\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">show\u00a0<\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/immigration\/2020\/04\/24\/poll-trumps-opponents-applaud-his-jobs-for-americans-immigration-policy\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">deep<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/politics\/2017\/01\/31\/poll-shows-public-support-trump-migration-poicy\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">broad<\/a>\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/economy\/2020\/05\/28\/business-poll-backfires-shows-public-wants-less-migration\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">opposition<\/a>\u00a0to\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/politics\/2020\/11\/16\/exit-polls-3-in-4-voters-want-less-immigration-during-and-after-pandemic\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">labor migration<\/a>\u00a0and the inflow of\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/economy\/2020\/08\/06\/ipsos-poll-public-opposes-migrant-workers-by-21\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">temporary<\/a>\u00a0contract workers\u00a0into jobs sought by young U.S. graduates. The\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/immigration\/2021\/03\/05\/survey-americans-underestimate-quiet-public-opposition-to-legal-migration\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">opposition<\/a>\u00a0is\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/immigration\/2021\/12\/16\/pro-migration-groups-accelerate-hate-campaign-against-americans\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">growing<\/a>,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/economy\/2021\/12\/10\/only-41-percent-voters-trust-republicans-immigration-policy\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">anti-establishment<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/economy\/2020\/04\/29\/washington-post-poll-hispanics-are-the-strongest-opponents-of-immigration\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">multiracial<\/a>,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/immigration\/2020\/07\/11\/poll-suburban-women-strongly-back-donald-trumps-migration-policy\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">cross-sex<\/a>,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/politics\/2020\/09\/24\/survey-hispanic-americans-most-opposed-to-illegal-immigration-defunding-police\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">non-racist<\/a>,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/immigration\/2018\/04\/27\/study-black-working-class-opposes-mass-migration\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">class-based<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/economy\/2021\/02\/22\/poll-democrat-sex-split-visa-workers\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">bipartisan<\/a>,\u00a0 <a class=\"x5l\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/USTechWorkers\/status\/1377363222005575680?s=20\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">rational<\/a>,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/immigration\/2021\/05\/11\/harvard-poll-swing-voters-want-biden-to-embrace-trumps-border-goals\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">persistent<\/a>, and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/economy\/2021\/01\/22\/rasmussen-poll-liberals-and-wealthy-welcome-caravan-migrants\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">built on<\/a>\u00a0the solidarity that Americans owe to one another.<\/p>\n<p>The two authors do admit that Democrat elites do not want to recognize the easy-migration\/cheap-labor policies that are powering Trump\u2019s return to power in 2025:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>We fear that the Democratic Party is not positioning itself to fulfill this duty [of defeating Trump in 2024] \u2026 it has barely begun to develop an agenda on cultural issues that a majority of Americans can support. This triple failure is what we call the new politics of evasion.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The party\u2019s progressive leadership is living their own cultural bubble that blinds them to the public\u2019s concerns, the authors say:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>In recent years, a substantial portion of the Democratic Party has convinced itself that Americans are ready for a political revolution that transforms every aspect of their lives. This assumption has crashed into a stubborn reality: Most Americans want evolutionary, not revolutionary, change. They want more government in some areas but not all, and within limits. And they want government that respects their commonsense beliefs \u2014 for example, that defunding the police is not the path to public safety, abolishing immigration enforcement is not the cure for our southern border, and that it is wrong to exclude parents from decisions about the education of their children.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>But Biden\u2019s administration is <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/economy\/2021\/05\/19\/zuckerbergs-fwd-us-prods-joe-biden-to-revive-amnesty-push\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">entwined with the investor class<\/a> who profit from the export of manufacturing jobs and the import of workers and consumers.<\/p>\n<p>Other writers doubt that the white-collar woke Democrats can change their pro-migration policies amid growing public opposition. Ronald Brownstein, a long-time advocate for mass migration at <em>The Atlantic<\/em>, wrote in December:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>Even if Democrats follow the critics\u2019 advice and either downplay or explicitly renounce cutting-edge liberal ideas on policing and \u201ccancel culture,\u201d the party is still irrevocably committed to gun control, LGBTQ rights (including same-sex marriage), legalization for millions of undocumented immigrants, greater accountability for police, and legal abortion. With so many obstacles separating Democrats from blue-collar white voters, there\u2019s \u201cnot a lot of room\u201d for Democrats to improve their standing with those voters, says Alan Abramowitz, an Emory University political scientist who has extensively studied blue-collar attitudes.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><strong>\u201c<\/strong>I don\u2019t know where [Biden\u2019s] heart is on this stuff, but I think he\u2019s a creature of the party and what he thinks is the party consensus,\u201d Democrat consultant Ruy Teixeira <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theatlantic.com\/politics\/archive\/2021\/12\/democrats-lose-culture-war\/620887\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">told<\/a> <em>The Atlantic<\/em>.\u00a0\u201cHe doesn\u2019t want to pick a fight.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Yet Galston and Kamarck insist that \u201cthere is no greater cause \u2026 [Democrats should be] subordinating everything else to this goal.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, Biden\u2019s deputies are trying\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/economy\/2022\/02\/26\/dhs-secretary-alejandro-mayorkas-opening-doors-stateless-migrants\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">to invite more economic migrants<\/a> through the border, amid much evidence that migration allows employers to shove Americans out of jobs.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Thanks Democrats.
