In two weeks, it\u2019s made $83.4 million in U.S. and Canadian theaters.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cUncharted,\u201d a long-in-development adventure film about lost treasure that cost $120 million to make, is packing theaters overseas, too. With a mid-March China release date still looming, \u201cUncharted\u201d added $58.3 million overseas, bringing its worldwide gross to $226.4 million so far.<\/p>\n<p>The film\u2019s robust international sales includes $46.7 million in two weeks in Russia, where studios have thus far elected to keep movies in release after the country\u00a0<a class=\"x5l\" href=\"https:\/\/apnews.com\/article\/russia-ukraine-kyiv-business-europe-moscow-2e4e1cf784f22b6afbe5a2f936725550\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener external\">invaded Ukraine earlier in the week.<\/a>\u00a0The Ukrainian Film Academy on Saturday\u00a0<a class=\"x5l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.change.org\/p\/film-institutions-and-film-professionals-call-for-a-boycott-of-russian-cinema?recruiter=1255077402&#038;recruited_by_id=f8db59b0-96d8-11ec-9ba6-e1bf6b67507e&#038;utm_source=share_petition&#038;utm_campaign=share_petition&#038;utm_medium=copylink&#038;utm_content=cl_sharecopy_32496355_ru-RU%3A5\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener external\">called for a boycott of the Russian film industry<\/a>\u00a0following the invasion.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<p>On the heels of the blockbuster business for \u201cSpider-Man: No Way Home,\u201d the success of \u201cUncharted\u201d has minted the expanding star power of the 25-year-old Holland.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNo Way Home,\u201d which\u00a0<a class=\"x5l\" href=\"https:\/\/apnews.com\/article\/entertainment-business-arts-and-entertainment-movies-north-america-d13b003fa7851efcb18854ce23f7b631\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener external\">led the box office six times<\/a>\u00a0over December and January, is still one of the top draws in theaters. This weekend, it landed in third place with $5.8 million, edging it closer to $800 million in domestic ticket sales.<\/p>\n<p>While both \u201cUncharted\u201d and \u201cSpider-Man: No Way Home\u201d have benefitted from brand recognition, rarely has one movie star reigned so much over a 12-week span in theaters.<\/p>\n<p>Star power, too, has kept the Channing Tatum-led \u201cDog\u201d at the number two spot. The MGM release,\u00a0<a class=\"x5l\" href=\"https:\/\/apnews.com\/article\/entertainment-us-army-channing-tatum-sandra-bullock-hollywood-da91939f3c9e522eded0ed0b34c18e94\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener external\">which Tatum co-directed with Reid Carolin<\/a>, declined just 32% with $10.1 million in its second weekend of release.<\/p>\n<p>So far, the film \u2014 in which Tatum plays an Army Ranger paired with an Army dog on a road trip \u2014 has made $30.9 million against a $15 million budget.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B3\" class=\"a8d adSo\"><\/figure>\n<p>With the release of Warner Bros.\u2019 \u201cThe Batman\u201d coming on Friday, few new wide releases opened in theaters \u2014 and the ones that did struggled to make an impression.<\/p>\n<p><a class=\"x5l\" href=\"https:\/\/apnews.com\/article\/film-reviews-entertainment-reviews-arts-and-entertainment-movies-3999deaf12a24485a7bcc0705232389b\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener external\">The Foo Fighters\u2019 horror-comedy \u201cStudio 666,\u201d<\/a>\u00a0released by Open Road and Briarcliff Entertainment, went the widest, opening in 2,306 theaters. The movie, starring Dave Grohl and company as themselves while making their 10th record in a haunted house, debuted with $1.5 million.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"D-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<p>The repeated delayed \u201cCyrano,\u201d starring Peter Dinklage, launched in 797 theaters and totaled $1.4 million for MGM.<\/p>\n<p>The musical, directed by Joe Wright,\u00a0<a class=\"x5l\" href=\"https:\/\/apnews.com\/article\/film-reviews-entertainment-reviews-arts-and-entertainment-movies-dc4f58c0a3ccf74c83bccc00f866e7e4\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener external\">has been warmly received by critics<\/a>, might have benefitted from a boost in Oscar nominations, but after several major Golden Globe nominations, it landed only a nod for costume design.<\/p>\n<p>The new release that performed best is five decades old. Paramount\u2019s 50th anniversary, remastered release of Francis Ford Coppola\u2019s \u201cThe Godfather\u201d debuted with $900,000 in 156 theaters.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B4\" class=\"a8d adSo\"><\/figure>\n<p>Estimated ticket sales for Friday through Sunday at U.S. and Canadian theaters, according to Comscore.
