Scott Carlton of the Fayetteville Police Department.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDarkness was moving out on us. We had rainfall coming in, and we had done everything we could to put the information out to the public to try to find him,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<p>However, when Carlton and others began knocking on doors in a nearby neighborhood, they eventually arrived at Ezekiel McCulley\u2019s home, and he said he noticed the man walking in the woods during recess hours before.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI saved someone just off my eyes,\u201d recalled Ezekiel, adding he was nervous while talking to the officers but did not regret it.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI was kind of like, a little bit excited and scared at the same time,\u201d he <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wbaltv.com\/article\/arkansas-boy-ezekiel-mcculley-hero-save-missing-man\/39229725\">added<\/a>, according to WBAL-TV.<\/p>\n<p>Video footage <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=WgY29mf8Z50\">showed<\/a> the densely wooded area Ezekiel mentioned to authorities:<\/p>\n[embedded content]\n<p>When officers returned, Ezekiel\u2019s mother, Brittany McCulley, explained, \u201cThey told us they found him and that it was due to his tip. They asked if they could take a picture with him, and he has just been so excited since.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In a social media post on February 17, the Fayetteville Police Department <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/FYVpolice\/posts\/314298700727714\">said<\/a> it was a huge day for Ezekiel because first responders visited his school as a thank you for helping find Joab:<\/p>\n<div class=\"fb-post\" data-href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/FYVpolice\/posts\/314298700727714\" data-width=\"640\">\n<blockquote cite=\"https:\/\/graph.facebook.com\/100064427600215\/posts\/314298700727714\/\" class=\"fb-xfbml-parse-ignore\">\n<p>It was a big day for our new friend, Ezekiel!
