Version: 4.0.47--><div><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/Money-640x480-640x335-1.jpg\" class=\"ff-og-image-inserted\" alt=\"image\" \/><\/div>\n<p class=\"subheading\">The government\u2019s Medicaid program rolls have reportedly inflated, growing into a money drain for many state budgets, Fox Business\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxbusiness.com\/politics\/improper-medicaid-payments-expand-obamacare-pandemic-studies\">reported<\/a> Sunday.<\/p>\n<p>Improper payments have also grown, becoming a result of ineligible patients state officials have balked at removing, data from the Foundation for Government Accountability (FGA) showed.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"D-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"gmxrevmore\" class=\"H\"><\/figure>\n<p>In its study <a href=\"https:\/\/thefga.org\/paper\/ineligible-medicaid-enrollees-high-cost\/\">published<\/a> Monday, the FGA said:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>Facing the COVID-19 pandemic and government-imposed lockdowns, states experienced major\u00a0fiscal uncertainty in the spring of 2020.<sup>1<\/sup>\u00a0In response, Congress offered states a 6.2 percent bump to their traditional Medicaid funding in the Families First Coronavirus Response Act (FFCRA).<sup>2<\/sup>\u00a0But that extra funding came with strings attached\u2014strings woven around states\u2019 Medicaid programs to form restrictive handcuffs.<sup>3<\/sup>\u00a0In order to receive the extra funding, states cannot change eligibility standards, adjust enrollment processes, or remove individuals from their Medicaid rolls\u2014even those who are ineligible for the program.<sup>4<\/sup><br \/><sup>\u2026<\/sup><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<blockquote>\n<p>Medicaid enrollment has soared to new record highs, reaching an estimated 91 million by December 2021.<sup>7<\/sup>\u00a0But nearly 90 percent of Medicaid enrollment growth has been driven by individuals who are ineligible for the program\u2014yet continue to receive benefits because of the congressional handcuffs.<sup>8<\/sup><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>According to Medicaid.gov, the program <a href=\"https:\/\/www.medicaid.gov\/medicaid\/index.html\">offers<\/a> coverage to millions of citizens, \u201cincluding eligible low-income adults, children, pregnant women, elderly adults and people with disabilities,\u201d and the funds to pay for it come from states and the federal government.<\/p>\n<p>In a study published in January, the FGA <a href=\"https:\/\/thefga.org\/paper\/ineligible-medicaid-enrollees-costing-taxpayers-billions\/\">reported<\/a>, \u201cMedicaid has bloated into a massive welfare program for millions of able-bodied adults dependent upon the government.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<p>The foundation said the program quickly grew into the \u201clargest line item in state budgets\u201d that came out to over $700 billion a year.<\/p>\n<p>This happened following the Medicaid expansion from the act dubbed ObamaCare, according to the Fox article.<\/p>\n<p>The FGA report stated, \u201cToday, more than one in five dollars spent on Medicaid is improper.\u00a0Virtually all improper payments are due to eligibility errors, administrative oversights, or outright fraud.<span>\u201c<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile in July, several states with Democrat legislatures and governors lead regarding plans that give American taxpayer-funded health benefits to illegal alien seniors, \u201can effort likely to entice healthcare migration to the states,\u201d Breitbart News <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/politics\/2021\/07\/26\/blue-states-spearhead-plan-taxpayer-funded-health-benefits-illegal-alien-senior-citizens\/\">reported<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Now, many of the improper payment rates happened before the coronavirus pandemic, therefore, researchers may not yet be able to pinpoint the exact number,\u00a0Hayden Dublois, deputy research director for FGA, explained to Fox.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s not a clear red state, blue state divide, but the two highest states for improper payments are states that expanded Medicaid under ObamaCare,\u201d Dublois added.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The government\u2019s Medicaid program rolls have reportedly inflated, growing into a money drain for many state budgets, Fox Business\u00a0reported Sunday.
