Ideological conservatives reported a similar 75 percent to 17 percent split.<\/p>\n<p>Swing-voters strongly backed the defense of U.S. borders by 56 percent to 33 percent.<\/p>\n<p>Latino and Asian voters picked the U.S. border defense over Ukraine by 63 percent to 28 percent.<\/p>\n<p>The poll also showed an economic divide.<\/p>\n<p>Just 31 percent of people who earn between $50,000 and $100,000 favored the defense of Ukraine, while 59 percent favored the defense of their own border.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B3\" class=\"a8d adSo\"><\/figure>\n<p>However, wealthier Americans split evenly: 46 percent for Ukraine 50 percent for the U.S. border.<\/p>\n<p>The survey result matches other polls showing how ideological liberals are less willing to ally with ordinary Americans than with distant foreigners. This ideological preference for \u201ctelescopic charity\u201d is very different from conservatives, who simultaneously sympathize with distant victims but also prioritize circles of people closer to home \u2014 first family, then relatives, neighbors, same-county residents, and then fellow nationals. But this reluctance to defend their national border is tied to progressives\u2019 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/politics\/2022\/01\/09\/nyt-harry-reid-dropped-support-restricting-immigration-political-reasons\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">eagerness to use immigrants<\/a> to help them <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/immigration\/2021\/12\/16\/pro-migration-groups-accelerate-hate-campaign-against-americans\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">win political supremacy<\/a> over ordinary Americans.<\/p>\n<p>Since at least 1990, the federal government has tried to\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/tag\/extraction-migration\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">extract<\/a>\u00a0people from poor countries so they can serve U.S. investors as cheap workers, government-aided consumers, and high-density renters in the U.S. economy. That\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/immigration\/2021\/12\/20\/washington-post-low-wage-employers-struggle-after-cheap-labor-bubble\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">economic<\/a>\u00a0strategy\u00a0has\u00a0no\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/economy\/2021\/11\/20\/gop-donors-economist-immigration-can-offset-foreign-trade-risks\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">stopping point<\/a>, and it is harmful to ordinary Americans because it cuts their\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/immigration\/2021\/03\/12\/bloomberg-opts-h1bs-take-two-three-new-tech-jobs-each-year\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">career<\/a>\u00a0opportunities and their\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/economy\/2021\/04\/08\/elite-academics-hide-amnesty-wage-pain-americans\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">wages<\/a>\u00a0while it also raises their\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/politics\/2021\/06\/16\/new-yorks-mayoral-rivals-vow-cheap-housing-plus-more-migrants\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">housing costs<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The federal government\u2019s wealth-shifting extraction migration policy is very unpopular, according to\u00a0a\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/politics\/2020\/03\/30\/harvard-harris-poll-5-in-6-americans-want-to-end-immigration-from-mexico\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">wide<\/a>\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/immigration\/2021\/01\/14\/poll-americans-want-companies-hire-americans-before-migrants\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">variety<\/a>\u00a0of media-ignored\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/politics\/2020\/04\/13\/ipsos-poll-nearly-8-in-10-americans-want-immigration-moratorium-for-u-s\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">polls<\/a>. The polls <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/politics\/2019\/08\/05\/poll-swing-voters-hugely-oppose-2020-democrats-promising-more-immigration\/\" target=\"_blank\"
