In turn, Facebook relies on the journalists funded and trained by ICFJ to \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/journalismproject\">combat<\/a> misinformation\u201d on its platform through its <a href=\"https:\/\/thenationalpulse.com\/news\/facebook-just-admitted-in-court-that-its-fact-checks-are-just-third-party-opinions\/\">controversial<\/a> fact-checking operation.<\/p>\n<p>Together, Facebook and the ICFJ have <a href=\"https:\/\/thenationalpulse.com\/2021\/05\/11\/facebook-partnered-with-group-training-marxist-journalists-for-the-ccp\/\">funded<\/a> news outlets based in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/journalismproject\/south-africa-news-coronavirus-support\">Africa<\/a>, Latin\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/journalismproject\/programs\/grants\/latin-america-news-coronavirus-support\">America<\/a>, and the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/journalismproject\/middle-east-north-africa-news-coronavirus-support\">Middle<\/a> East with a focus on COVID-19 reporting.<\/p>\n<p>Facebook\u2019s fact-checking partner ICFJ, however, also receives financial <a href=\"https:\/\/www.icfj.org\/our-work\/burns\/sponsors\">backing<\/a> from Pfizer, with its recently announced 2022 Arthur F. Burns Fellowship \u2013 named after a former Federal Reserve chairman \u2013 lists the pharmaceutical giant as one of the program\u2019s sponsors.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cICFJ\u2019s longest-running program, the Arthur F. Burns Fellowship provides talented young U.S., German and <a href=\"https:\/\/thenationalpulse.com\/2022\/02\/03\/canadas-truckers-hold-the-line-against-absent-trudeau-as-one-province-announces-end-of-restrictions\/\">Canadian<\/a> journalists the opportunity to live and work in each other\u2019s country,\u201d explains a program summary.
