His words to me were, \u2018don\u2019t be that guy.\u2019 All of a sudden, it\u2019s about the money.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\"><\/figure>\n<p>The Packers are reportedly willing to spend a hefty price to\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2022\/02\/13\/packers-ready-to-make-aaron-rodgers-highest-paid-player-in-nfl\/\">retain the four-time NFL MVP<\/a>. On Thursday, ESPN\u2019s\u00a0Field Yates\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/FieldYates\/status\/1496841462218039298\">reported<\/a>\u00a0that the Packers created $3.08 million in cap space by turning a portion of Aaron Jones\u2019 2022 salary into a signing bonus and adding two voidable years to his deal.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Russini also<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/GetUpESPN\/status\/1496884902532370434\"> reported<\/a> that <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2022\/02\/17\/terrell-davis-aaron-rodgers-will-play-for-denver-broncos\/\">multiple tea<\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2022\/02\/17\/terrell-davis-aaron-rodgers-will-play-for-denver-broncos\/1496884902532370434\">ms\u00a0are waiting on Rodgers<\/a> to make a decision and there are a number of offers on the table. However, Green Bay would have to agree to a trade to move forward with any deal. <\/p>\n<p>Packers general manager Brian Gutekunst\u00a0told reporters on Wednesday he never promised to trade Rodgers after the 2021 season. Teams can begin making trades on March 16, when the new league year begins.
