I am sad and I am sickened by the attack on Ukraine and the Ukranian people,\u201d she told <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/entertainment\/erika-eleniak-russia-attack-ukraine-diabolical-behavior\">Fox News<\/a> on Thursday in the wake of the invasion.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"D-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"gmxrevmore\" class=\"H\"><\/figure>\n<p class=\"speakable\">Eleniak\u2019s paternal great-grandfather settled in Canada and was part of the first groups of immigrants from the region to settle in the northern country, a legacy that Eleniak was \u201cproud\u201d of.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI am very proud of my Ukrainian heritage and what my Great Grandfather, Wasyl Eleniak accomplished to make life better for the Ukrainian people,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_20009530\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/GettyImages-159824385.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-20009530\" src=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/GettyImages-159824385.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1920\" height=\"1319\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-caption-text\"><em>Erika Eleniak in waitress outfit in a scene from the film \u2018Chasers\u2019, 1994. (Morgan Creek\/Getty Images)<\/em><\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n<p>Eleniak called Russia\u2019s behavior \u201cdiabolical\u201d and hoped that the world will support the Ukrainian people at this moment.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI have no words for the level of diabolical behavior that is being committed but I am praying that the world will rise up in support of the Ukrainian people and for ALL the people who are affected by this attack,\u201d she concluded.<\/p>\n<p>Eleniak\u2019s career began when she played Elliott\u2019s classroom crush in Steven Spielberg\u2019s <em>E.T.<\/em>\u00a0and continued well into the 1990s with her role on <em>Baywatch,<\/em> culminating in her starring role in Andrew Davis\u2019 action hit<em> Under Siege<\/em> alongside Steven Seagal.<\/p>\n<p>Eleniak is not the only celebrity with Ukrainian roots to speak out against the invasion.
