Nearly three years into his battle, Hudson came home to a bedroom makeover on Sunday, featuring his favorite superheroes such as Thor, Iron Man, Spider-Man, and Captain America, KWQC <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kwqc.com\/2022\/02\/20\/community-rallies-give-eldridge-boy-with-cancer-room-makeover\/\">reported<\/a>.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"D-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"gmxrevmore\" class=\"H\"><\/figure>\n<div class=\"fb-post\" data-href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/myhappyplacemc\/photos\/pcb.5090212441009504\/5090200311010717\" data-width=\"640\">\n<blockquote cite=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/myhappyplacemc\/photos\/a.558637187500408\/5090200311010717\/?type=3\" class=\"fb-xfbml-parse-ignore\">\n<p>Posted by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/539973422700118\">My Happy Place \u2013 Mason City<\/a> on\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/myhappyplacemc\/photos\/a.558637187500408\/5090200311010717\/?type=3\">Sunday, February 20, 2022<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<\/div>\n<p>The redesign was done by the Mason City-based branch of My Happy Places, which gives sick children bedroom makeovers to provide \u201cthem with a fun, safe, and therapeutic environment where they can thrive and heal,\u201d its website states.<\/p>\n<p><span> \u201cWhere do we go to when we\u2019re sick? When we don\u2019t feel good? We retreat to our bedroom,\u201d the nonprofit\u2019s Executive Director Lisa Tan told KWQC. \u201cWe just feel giving them their happy place helps exponentially in the healing process.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>My Happy Places works to rally communities together to fundraise for flooring, decor, painting, and installation, KWQC reported.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<p><span>Jessica McKearny, Hudson\u2019s mother, expressed her gratitude to those in the community who made the redesign possible.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span> \u201cThere are so many needs that we don\u2019t even realize that we need sometimes,\u201d she told KWQC. \u201cTo see these local businesses \u2026 want to support us. This is awesome! He wants to keep showing us every single detail of the room!!! We\u2019re still in awe. Our phones have been blowing up how incredible the room looks and the fire trucks and superheroes.
