Religions themselves have failed and the secular world. It is the overwhelming dynamo of society. I\u2019ve said for years, secular societies influenced religions much more than religions have influenced secular society in the last hundred years,\u201d Prager noted during the interview.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Much of the loss of religion in our society, Prager observed, is based on Americans forgetting the influence of their faith.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u201cPeople forgot what their religion is about, you know. They went on automatic pilot. They didn\u2019t teach their kids what America means. And so America doesn\u2019t mean much to most kids. And the same with the religions, Judaism and Christianity. They didn\u2019t teach their kids why the religion is so relevant to society,\u201d<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Prager notes, \u201cI\u2019m not blaming them.\u201d Instead, he highlights, \u201cI\u2019m just describing a reality. That\u2019s what happened. They didn\u2019t convey the meaning, and so the kids just dropped it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Religious freedom remains a critical foundation to American society and one that has been tested in recent days. Threats continue to grow within our nation, as well as to neighboring countries like Canada, where peaceful protesters have faced serious repercussions for their convictions regarding vaccine mandates.\u00a0Prager responded to what\u2019s driving these attacks on religious freedom today.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u201cThe left from its inception from Karl Marx has hated religion because it\u2019s the only competitor for people\u2019s allegiance. If Judaism and Christianity are strong or for that matter, if Islam is strong, it has resisted Marxism. But in societies where the religion declines, Marxism\u2019s appeal and power increase,\u201d he noted.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u201cLook at Canada, Canada\u2019s a thoroughly secular place for all intents and purposes, and we have a true Marxist, pro-communist, currently, a dictatorship, and a mean one at that at the front, governing that country. You know who opposed Soviet communism? Pope John Paul II from Poland, and Muslims in Afghanistan, and the Jews in the Soviet Union. These were the nemeses of the Soviet Union. You either worship the God of the Judeo-Christian world or the god of Marx. That\u2019s what it really amounts to,\u201d Prager shared.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">The resistance to religious freedom is prevalent and well-known, but what is the counter to the erosion of religious freedom?<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u201cI can tell you what has worked for me,\u201d Prager answered. \u201cFor almost half a century explaining to people rationally why God and the Bible are necessary. That\u2019s why I\u2019ve embarked on this massive project of a five-volume commentary on the first five books of the Bible called the Rational Bible.\u201d<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Two volumes are already available, with another coming later this year.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u201cPeople read them and, \u2018Wow, I never realized this. I think I\u2019m going to take God and the Bible a little more seriously now,&#8217;\u201d Prager added. \u201cYou want to defund the police? Have everybody live by the 10 Commandments.\u201d<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">The concept of a \u201crational\u201d Bible sounds odd to some. Prager addressed the emphasis on the reasoning aspects of Scripture that are important to his work.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u201cMy vehicle to God is purely through reason. I admit I don\u2019t have a mystical bone in my body. I envy people who do, but I don\u2019t. My vehicle to God and religion is purely through reason. But I have found that that is the most persuasive way to touch people, at least to the times in which we live,\u201d Prager explained.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Prager emphasized during the interview that people are \u201creachable.\u201d When asked to clarify, he presented a strong case for helping people with faith through reason.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u201cMy entire <em>raison d\u2019etre<\/em> is that you can reach people through reason. Not everybody. We live in the age of anti-reason,\u201d he said. \u201cIf you really think it\u2019s fair for a biological male to compete against women in women\u2019s sports, then you have abandoned reason, not to mention fairness, but not everybody believes that. There are still people to whom the rational is appealing, and if they\u2019re a quarter of the civilization, it\u2019s a lot of people to touch.\u201d<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">When asked if he sees any turning points coming for the U.S. in a positive or negative direction, Prager offered cautious but hopeful words.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u201cIt\u2019ll be interesting to see what happens in the next elections when three members of the San Francisco school board are deposed or recalled 70 to 30,\u201d Prager suggested. \u201cThe rank and file parent, trucker, you name it.
