We do this, with the intention of ensuring our government upholds the laws that support Canada\u2019s Charter of Rights and Freedoms.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>According to a report from broadcaster CBC, Warrant Officer Topp was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbc.ca\/news\/canada\/ottawa\/ottawa-protests-military-1.6349358\">under investigation<\/a> by the Canadian Armed Forces over his planned march. They are going to hear our feet out east.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The veteran acknowledged that he was inspired by Canadian Terry Fox, who after losing his right leg to cancer in 1977 at age 18, <a href=\"https:\/\/terryfox.org\/terrys-story\/\">attempted to cross Canada on foot<\/a> to raise money for cancer research, in what became known as the Marathon of Hope.<\/p>\n<p>Fox was taken ill after cancer returned to his lungs on September 1st, 1980 after running for 5,373 kilometres\/3,338 miles. He died several months later on June 28th 1981.<\/p>\n<p>A statue of Terry Fox in Ottawa was involved in the early days of the Freedom Convoy protests after some claimed protestors had <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbc.ca\/news\/canada\/ottawa\/terry-fox-statue-convoy-1.6333867\">defaced the statue<\/a> after placing a sign stating \u201cMandate Freedom\u201d and a Canadian flag on the statue.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Huh?
