National Guard and 300 members from outside of the District of Columbia; the Bureau said none of their members will carry firearms \u201cor take part in law enforcement or domestic-surveillance activities,\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/abcnews.go.com\/US\/ahead-trucker-convoy-protests-defense-secretary-lloyd-austin\/story?id=83056780\">ABC News<\/a> reported, adding, \u201cOfficers from Washington\u2019s Metropolitan Police Department will increase patrols on Feb. 22 through March 5, shortly after the State of the Union, according to an internal MPD message obtained by ABC News. The department will also have two rapid response teams ready.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>President Biden is scheduled to deliver his State of the Union address on March 1.<\/p>\n<p>Three convoys have already announced their intentions to travel to the Washington D.C. area: Bob Bolus Towers &#038; Truckers for America, The People\u2019s Convoy, and The American Truckers Freedom Convoy. \u00a0The Bolus group was planning on leaving from Scranton, Pennsylvania on Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p>Bolus <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pahomepage.com\/news\/local-businessman-leading-convoy-to-nations-capital-in-protest\/\">stated<\/a>:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p><em>These are people that have put their whole lives to buy a truck, drive a truck, live in a truck. When people are home sleeping nice and snug as a bug in a rug, these guys are pounding up and down the highway. They\u2019re overregulated, the fuel charge operation expenses are out of mind, out of sight. And we\u2019re asking this to be brought back where it was before Biden took office. We\u2019re not blockading anything off. We\u2019re peaceful, we\u2019re going down the road, we\u2019re not looking for a fight. We\u2019re looking to be recognized, we\u2019re looking to be heard, and we\u2019re looking to be supported because it\u2019s not just about us, it\u2019s about every family in America.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>He said of the convoy\u2019s hoped-for numbers: \u201cI hope 10,000, but it\u2019s all up to who shows up and joins us on the way. We have food; we have beverages for our people that are going. We\u2019re gonna just enjoy it; it\u2019s our outing to let Washington know they work for us; we don\u2019t work for them.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The People\u2019s Convoy is planning on leaving Wednesday from Adelanto, California. Their <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vvdailypress.com\/story\/news\/2022\/02\/18\/american-peoples-convoy-covid-19-protest-begin-barstow\/6838584001\/\">mission statements<\/a> asserts, \u201cAmericans love our freedoms and love the Constitution of The United States of America. This convoy aims to bring back our freedoms, our civil liberties, and bring an end to all unconstitutional mandates.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>They wrote on their <a href=\"https:\/\/thepeoplesconvoy.org\/\">website<\/a>:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p><em>To our elected officials that believe they rule us:\u00a0 YOU work for US.\u00a0 Our constitution was written to provide enough power to act on a national level, but not enough to deprive the people of fundamental rights.\u00a0 The people are prepared to see this challenge through \u2014 as we have seen through all challenges to our Freedom in the past.\u00a0 And we will prevail and prosper.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>To our brave and courageous neighbors to the North \u2014 our Canadian brothers and sisters who led the charge \u2014 we join your call to Freedom with THE PEOPLE\u2019S CONVOY.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The American Truckers Freedom Convoy, which is funded by \u201cThe Great American Patriot Party\u201d political action committee, wrote on the PAC\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.greatamericanpatriotproject.org\/atfc\/1879119\">website<\/a>, \u201cFreedom convoys are peaceful, non-violent, demonstrations by those who wish to express their constitutional rights.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><em>The Daily Wire\u2019s first original film, Shut In, has made its cinematic debut, being met with rave reviews.
