The road serves as a major commuting passageway and route for commercial deliveries into the district.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"D-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"gmxrevmore\" class=\"H\"><\/figure>\n<p>It is unknown how long the blockade could last.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe will be along the Beltway where the Beltway will be shut down,\u201d Bob Bolus told Fox 5 DC. \u201cI\u2019ll give you an analogy of that of a giant boa constrictor. That basically squeezes you, chokes you and it swallows you, and that\u2019s what we\u2019re going to do to D.C.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Bolus explained he intends to provide emergency vehicles an open lane to keep inhabitants safe.\u00a0\u201cThere will be a lane open for emergency vehicles, they\u2019ll be able to get in and out and all that,\u201d Bolus said. \u201cWe will not compromise anybody\u2019s safety or health, one way or the other. As far as if they can\u2019t get to work, geez that\u2019s too bad.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<p>In response to the protest, D.C. police will reportedly be \u201cmobilizing\u201d on Wednesday by deploying about 500 officers to reduce the \u201ccivil disturbance.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere will be disruptions to traffic, that kind of thing,\u201d Police Chief Robert Contee said Friday. \u201cI think we need to be very candid with the public about some of the expectations based upon what we\u2019ve seen in Ottawa.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>One police tactic to lift the potential blockade is to use tow trucks to remove the trucks. But according to the Fox 5 DC report, sources with knowledge of police activity have revealed towing companies are siding with the protestors and will not help police remove the blockade.<\/p>\n<p>The \u201cFreedom Convoy\u201d blockade in Ottawa, Canada, was slowly <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/politics\/2022\/02\/18\/freedom-convoy-partied-into-the-night-on-eve-of-mass-police-action\/\">lifted<\/a> over the weekend by towing 99 vehicles and arresting 191 people.
