And that&#8217;s to our advantage,&#8221; McMillon said during the company\u2019s earnings call Thursday.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;So we&#8217;ve been through this before. And we run with inflation around the world all the time. Inflation is a different environment in the U.S. right now than it has been in recent times for sure, but we\u2019ve been dealing with inflation in South America and Mexico and other places.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>In January, consumer prices surged 7.5%, the highest since 1982, and producer prices rose by 9.6%, the highest on record.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Walmart is managing to navigate soaring prices, which helped the retailer report solid earnings. Total revenue for the year was $572.8 billion, an increase of 2.4%. U.S. comp store sales rose 6.4% over the same period.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Transactions rose 3.1% in the quarter, while the average ticket rose 2.4%. The company does not disclose average spending per customer.\u00a0<\/p>\n<div class=\"inline image-ct\">\n<div class=\"m\"><source media=\"(max-width: 767px)\" \/><source media=\"(min-width: 768px) and (max-width: 1023px)\" \/><source media=\"(min-width: 1024px) and (max-width: 1279px)\" \/><source media=\"(min-width: 1280px)\" \/><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/a57.foxnews.com\/static.foxbusiness.com\/foxbusiness.com\/content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/931\/523\/walmart-smiley-sign-in-store.jpg?ve=1&#038;tl=1\" alt=\"image\" \/><\/div>\n<div class=\"caption\">\n<p><span>Walmart<\/span><span> (Source: Walmart)<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>Not only is Walmart navigating inflation internally, John Furner, president and CEO of Walmart U.S., said his team has been able to &#8220;roll back&#8221; prices.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We&#8217;re also seeing the opportunity to increase some of our rollbacks in stores. And we&#8217;re really proud of the team.
