In a statement on Sunday, Biden marked the anniversary of the Parkland Shooting in Florida, saying he would take new steps to take guns away from Americans.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Three years ago today, a lone gunman took the lives of 14 students and three educators in Parkland, Florida. In seconds, the lives of dozens of families were changed forever. As we mourn with the Parkland community, we mourn for all who have lost loved ones to gun violence. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/k050oDHXIi\">pic.twitter.com\/k050oDHXIi<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 President Biden (@POTUS) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/POTUS\/status\/1361068202395107329?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">February 14, 2021<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>His plans include a ban on private ownership of military style rifles, tougher background checks and growing bureaucratic obstacles to buying legal guns. Meanwhile, Biden has proposed little to contain the inflow of illegal weapons into the U.S.<\/p>\n<p>Many Americans said if Biden wants their guns, he may come and get them.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m very worried about this country, where it\u2019s going,\u201d gun dealer Scott Pickett said. \u201cIf it keeps heading down the same way, they\u2019re going to push people into another Civil War.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Biden baselessly claimed tougher gun control would reduce crime.
