Some shouted, \u201cHold the line,\u201d \u201cfreedom,\u201d and \u201cpeace and love.\u201d Many wore and held Canadian flags.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"D-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"gmxrevmore\" class=\"H\"><\/figure>\n<p>Law enforcement included mounted officers on horses and an armored vehicle. Police officers manning these checkpoints are stopping all motorists and asking their intentions for travel and if they are residents of the area. All drivers expressing an intent to join the Freedom Convoy demonstration are denied further travel in the direction of the protest.<\/p>\n<p>Police officers at checkpoints advised motorists that traffic may eventually be exclusively restricted to local residents. Motorists may be asked to display drivers\u2019 licenses to prove local residency.<\/p>\n<p>Municipal and provincial law enforcement began blocking off many entrances to downtown Ottawa late on Thursday evening. Breitbart News observed police officers stopping motorists on Elgin Street, a primary road leading to Parliament Hill, traveling north towards the center of the Freedom Convoy.<\/p>\n<p>CBC News <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbc.ca\/news\/canada\/ottawa\/ottawa-police-protest-occupation-news-1.6354871\">relayed<\/a> information about a \u201chardened perimeter\u201d established by police around Ottawa\u2019s downtown core.<\/p>\n<p>Breitbart News learned that hospitals in Ottawa were advised to prepare for pepper spray casualties.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>OTTAWA, Ontario \u2013 Demonstrators supporting the Freedom Convoy locked arms to block law enforcement\u2019s advancement towards Parliament Hill on Friday.
