Andrew Cuomo of sexual harassment, filing a lawsuit Thursday against Cuomo and others.<\/p>\n<p>The anonymous trooper accused Cuomo \u2014 who recently saw <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/2022\/01\/04\/criminal-charge-against-former-ny-gov-andrew-cuomo-is-dropped.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">similar charges<\/a> against him dismissed \u2014 of kissing her on the cheek and caressing her belly button with the palm of his hand while she was on duty in 2019, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/cuomo-sued-for-sexual-harassment-after-string-of-legal-victories\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">according<\/a> to the Washington Examiner. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/08\/10\/cuomo-announces-resignation-following-ag-sexual-harassment-report\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">(RELATED:&nbsp;Cuomo Announces Resignation Following AG Sexual Harassment Report)<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The lawsuit filed in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of New York also alleges former Secretary to the Governor Melissa DeRosa and the New York State Police violated federal and local laws, according to the outlet.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs a direct and proximate result of the unlawful conduct, Plaintiff has suffered, and continues to suffer, severe mental anguish and emotional distress, including, but not limited to, humiliation, embarrassment, stress and anxiety, loss of self-esteem and self-confidence, and emotional pain and suffering for which she is entitled to an award of monetary damages and other relief,\u201d the Washington Examiner reports the lawsuit stated.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">\u201cThe governor did not act alone. He was enabled by the machinery of the state,\u201d the federal civil complaint states. \u201cWomen who had the courage to complain were attacked by a cadre of the governor\u2019s closest advisors.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Janice Dean (@JaniceDean) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/JaniceDean\/status\/1494622076539478020?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">February 18, 2022<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The trooper accuses DeRosa of \u201chiding the Governor\u2019s behavior\u201d and falsely accusing her of wanting to extort Cuomo and insisting the local press not investigate her accusations, reported the outlet. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/08\/09\/cuomo-accuser-first-interview-brittany-commisso\/?tpcc%3D=newsletter\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">(RELATED:&nbsp;Cuomo Accuser Details Grope Attack Inside Executive Mansion In First Interview After Report)<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>DeRosa\u2019s attorney, Paul Schectman, said, \u201cWe are only aware of this case from Twitter, but according to the trooper\u2019s own testimony Melissa\u2019s only interaction with her was to say \u2018hello and goodbye.\u2019 It is not a viable case anywhere in America and is beyond frivolous,\u201d the Times Union <a href=\"https:\/\/www.timesunion.com\/state\/article\/Trooper-1-files-federal-lawsuit-against-Cuomo-16928096.php\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">reported<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Council for the trooper, Valdi Licul, told the Washington Examiner, \u201cGiven the threats and victim-shaming that [she] has faced after she testified truthfully about being sexually harassed in the workplace by the former Governor, she has made the decision to proceed with this lawsuit anonymously with the hope that she can vindicate her legal rights and move on with her life.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><span id=\"subtitle882\" class=\"subtitle processed selfragment\" data-id=\"882\" data-start=\"3166270\" data-end=\"3169570\">\u201cI\u2019ve never crossed the line with anyone.<\/span> <span id=\"subtitle883\" class=\"subtitle processed\" data-id=\"883\" data-start=\"3171160\" data-end=\"3175870\">But, I didn\u2019t realize the extent to<\/span> <span id=\"subtitle884\" class=\"subtitle processed\" data-id=\"884\" data-start=\"3175870\" data-end=\"3179230\">which the line has been redrawn.<\/span> <span id=\"subtitle885\" class=\"subtitle processed\" data-id=\"885\" data-start=\"3180670\" data-end=\"3185320\">There are generational and cultural shifts that<\/span> <span id=\"subtitle886\" class=\"subtitle processed\" data-id=\"886\" data-start=\"3185320\" data-end=\"3188199\">I just didn\u2019t fully appreciate,\u201d Cuomo <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/08\/10\/cuomo-announces-resignation-following-ag-sexual-harassment-report\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">said<\/a> during the August 2021 press conference in which he resigned, citing the allegations as distractions preventing him from adequately responding to the COVID-19 pandemic.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Cuomo\u2019s spokesman, Rich Azzopardi, defended the former governor saying, \u201cIf kissing someone on the cheek, patting someone on the back or stomach or waving hello at a public event on New Year\u2019s Eve is actionable then we are all in trouble,\u201d the Times Union reported. \u201cGov.
