Brian Kemp (R) has about a ten-point lead over former Sen. (Elijah Nouvelage\/Getty)<\/em><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>The poll found 31.2 percent of respondents were unaware of Trump\u2019s endorsement of Perdue, suggesting many voters have yet to learn of the influential former president\u2019s support and that the tides could turn in Perdue\u2019s favor should the endorsement resonate with those voters if and when they learn about it.<\/p>\n<p>Trafalgar\u2019s chief pollster, Robert Cahaly, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fox5atlanta.com\/news\/poll-kemp-walker-leading-gop-primary-races\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">observed<\/a> to Fox 5 Atlanta that Perdue has fair reason to be optimistic because of that fact.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI think there\u2019s something for each campaign to like about the poll,\u201d Cahaly said. \u201cI mean, the governor can look at it and say, \u2018Hey, look, I\u2019m, you know, close to 50.\u2019 And Perdue could look at it and say, \u2018Hey, you know, among the people who know that Trump\u2019s made an endorsement I\u2019m doing well and there\u2019s a significant amount of people who don\u2019t know.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The poll also asked about a local matter making recent headlines, the legislative proposal for a ballot referendum on the wealthy neighborhood of Buckhead&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/crime\/2021\/07\/16\/exclusive-wealthy-suburb-wanting-divorce-from-crime-ridden-atlanta-will-get-senate-hearing\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">deannexing<\/a>&nbsp;from Atlanta as a response to residents\u2019 concerns about surging violent crime. The initiative for the affluent suburb to separate from the city has been off and on for years but had gained significant momentum as bills were drawn up and introduced to move forward with the process.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B3\" class=\"a8d adSo\"><\/figure>\n<p>The effort hit a seemingly fatal snag this month after the bills in both the House and Senate were recently halted by the chambers\u2019 respective Republican leaders.&nbsp;But Bill White, who is spearheading the Buckhead City movement, plans to continue lobbying for the effort, and the bills could always be picked up again next year.<\/p>\n<p>Asked if respondents think their state representatives should support the bills, a vast majority, 72.5 percent, said yes.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_17734202\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/Buckhead.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-17734202\" src=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/Buckhead.jpg\" alt=\"Bill White \/ Buckhead City. (courtesy Bill White)<\/em><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>The poll also asked about the U.S. Senate race happening in the Georgia battleground this year.<\/p>\n<p>Former football star Herschel Walker, who is also backed by Trump, leads the Republican field of candidates by a wide margin of more than 60 points, receiving 69.9 percent support.
