The letter was also addressed to Princeton University, who the group says is calling on its students to participate.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/morganstanley.tal.net\/vx\/lang-en-GB\/mobile-0\/brand-2\/user-1448774\/xf-3786f0ce9359\/candidate\/so\/pm\/1\/pl\/1\/opp\/12497-2022-Freshman-Enhancement-Program-New-York\/en-GB\">According<\/a> to Morgan Stanley, the 2022 internship is solely available to \u201cBlack, Hispanic, Native American, and\/or LGBTQ+ freshman undergraduate student[s].\u201d It is characterized as a \u201cDiversity internship,\u201d which indicates asians, whites, and heterosexual applicants would be denied.<\/p>\n<div class=\"image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-343664\" src=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/Screen-Shot-2022-02-16-at-12.23.52-PM-1024x556.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"710\" height=\"385\" srcset=\"https:\/\/dw-wp-production.imgix.net\/2022\/02\/Screen-Shot-2022-02-16-at-12.23.52-PM-1024x556.png 1024w, https:\/\/dw-wp-production.imgix.net\/2022\/02\/Screen-Shot-2022-02-16-at-12.23.52-PM-300x163.png 300w, https:\/\/dw-wp-production.imgix.net\/2022\/02\/Screen-Shot-2022-02-16-at-12.23.52-PM-768x417.png 768w, https:\/\/dw-wp-production.imgix.net\/2022\/02\/Screen-Shot-2022-02-16-at-12.23.52-PM-1536x834.png 1536w, https:\/\/dw-wp-production.imgix.net\/2022\/02\/Screen-Shot-2022-02-16-at-12.23.52-PM.png 1610w\" \/><\/div>\n<p>\u201cMorgan Stanley and Princeton are leading institutions in our culture,\u201d the legal group wrote in the letter. \u201cWhat you do matters not only because it affects the individuals involved, but also because you set an influential example for others. Pandering to activists with \u2018diversity, equity, and inclusion\u2019 initiatives like this internship program is actively harming and racializing our already divided country.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>A senior associate employee at Morgan Stanley, who spoke on condition of anonymity out of fear of retribution, told The Daily Wire he was taken aback when learning about the diversity initiative.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI don\u2019t understand how arbitrarily excluding a large chunk of our potential talent base is serving the interests of our company, clients and stakeholders,\u201d said the employee. \u201cLooks like senior management is attempting to make a woke mob happy at the expense of our clients. Reverse racism at its finest.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The legal group, addressing Morgan Stanley\u2019s chief legal officer and general counsel at Princeton,&nbsp;harped on how the internship violates federal nondiscrimination laws and is indicative of the \u201cbroader dysfunction\u201d at both the financial company and Princeton. \u201cIt is difficult to understand how these programs passed internal legal review in light of the clear statutory prohibitions discussed above,\u201d the lawyers also wrote in the letter.<\/p>\n<p>Morgan Stanley\u2019s internship program is four weeks and places interns in several divisions. <a href=\"https:\/\/freebeacon.com\/campus\/advocacy-group-slams-big-bank-ivy-league-school-for-minority-only-internship-program\/\">As<\/a> The Washington Free Beacon highlighted, other competitive universities in addition to Princeton are calling on students to look into the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.scribd.com\/document\/559169720\/PFR-letter-on-Morgan-Stanley-s-Freshman-Enhancement-Program#from_embed\">program<\/a>. This includes Harvard University, The University of Michigan, and Denison University in Ohio.<\/p>\n<p>The Project on Fair Representation also described in its letter how schools that get federal dollars ought to adhere to nondiscrimination laws, including Title VI of the Civil Rights Act. The section bars discrimination based on \u201crace, color, or national origin in any program or activity that receives federal funds.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Morgan Stanley has been moving toward diversity initiatives for years.<\/p>\n<p>The company <a href=\"https:\/\/www.morganstanley.com\/assets\/pdfs\/Morgan_Stanley_2020_Diversity_and_Inclusion_Report.pdf\">released<\/a> a 2020 Diversity and Inclusion Report in which chairman and CEO James P. Gorman said \u201cThis summer, recent events highlighted the unresolved racial injustice that has existed in our society for a very long time,\u201d referring to the Black Lives Matter riots.
