Colonized by &#8216;identity&#8217; it&#8217;s divisive, noisy, and ugly \u2013 mirroring the state of the &#8220;community.&#8221; <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/ziEg2l8Vlv\">pic.twitter.com\/ziEg2l8Vlv<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 \u1d00\u1d0a (@ajlieshere) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/ajlieshere\/status\/1468491102281814017?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">December 8, 2021<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The six-striped rainbow flag \u2014&nbsp;red, orange, yellow, green, blue, and violet \u2014 represented a demand for recognition and respect of gay men and lesbian women. \u201cThe rainbow came from earliest recorded history as a symbol of hope,\u201d&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/gilbertbaker.com\/rainbow-flag-origin-story\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">said<\/a> the flag\u2019s designer, Gilbert Baker.<\/p>\n<p>Baker\u2019s 1978 flag had <a href=\"https:\/\/gilbertbaker.com\/rainbow-flag-color-meanings\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">eight colors<\/a>, but he cut it down to the simpler set of six colors one year later.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<p>Whether or not the cause was good or bad, popular or not, the flag served as a clear and recognized symbol for what Baker described as:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>a gay nation \u2026 [during] a battle for equal rights, a shift in status where we were now demanding power, taking it. This was our new revolution: a tribal, individualistic, and collective vision.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>In 2017, progressive politicians in Philadelphia directed that their priorities be added to the top of the rainbow flag. DeZeeen.com <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dezeen.com\/2018\/06\/12\/daniel-quasar-lgbt-rainbow-flag-inclusive\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">reported<\/a> in June 2018:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n[Daniel]&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/quasar.digital\/\">Quasar<\/a>\u2018s Progress Pride Flag adds five arrow-shaped lines to the six-coloured Rainbow Flag, which is widely recognised as the symbol of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) communities.<\/p>\n<p>The flag includes&nbsp;black and brown stripes to represent marginalised LGBT communities of colour, along with the colours pink, light blue and white, which are used on the Transgender Pride Flag.<br \/>\u2026<\/p>\n<p>He says the main section of the flag incorporates the six-stripe flag so as to not take away from the initial meaning, while the additional elements form an&nbsp;arrow shape that points to the right, to represent \u201cforward movement\u201d. They are placed along the left edge of the flag to state that \u201cprogress still needs to be made.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Neighbor put up a &#8220;Let&#8217;s go Brandon&#8221; (\ud83d\ude44) flag, so we put up the Progress Pride flag we had in storage. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/LXvuBDCgU7\">pic.twitter.com\/LXvuBDCgU7<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Brr(zy) Bree (@breeinthestee) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/breeinthestee\/status\/1463271626649358343?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">November 23, 2021<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B3\" class=\"a8d adSo\"><\/figure>\n<p>Many gays and lesbians oppose the intrusive arrow because&nbsp;the transgender cause \u2014 and the racial causes \u2014 are fundamentally different from the gay and lesbian cause.<\/p>\n<p>Gays and lesbians want respect, social status, and political recognition for their single-sex relationships.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"D-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<p>But transgender groups fundamentally deny the existence of any stable sexual identity.&nbsp;They argue that a man can become a woman, and vice versa if they have an internal and unverifiable \u201cgender identity\u201d of the opposite sex.<\/p>\n<p>The ideology claims that \u201cgender identity\u201d is independent of sexual desire \u2014 so a heterosexual man can declare himself to be a \u201ctransgender woman,\u201d complete with a \u201cfemale penis.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Many \u201ctransgender\u201d men are cross-dressing heterosexuals, not gays. The Pentagon\u2019s medical records show that a very small share of people claim to be transgender, and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/politics\/2018\/03\/26\/transgender-pentagon-says-fewer-than-25-soldiers-requested-genitalia-surgery\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">less than 10 percent of them<\/a>&nbsp;have cosmetic surgery on their genitals.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B4\" class=\"a8d adSo\"><\/figure>\n<p>So transgenderism\u2019s denial of inherent male-bodied gayness, and <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/LesbianLabour\/status\/1468647918240477187?s=20\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">female-bodied lesbianism<\/a>, makes it a \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/lesbianandgaynews.com\/2021\/04\/obituary-the-rainbow-flag-previously-a-symbol-of-hope-of-the-lesbian-and-gay-civil-rights-movement-died-in-2020-at-the-age-of-42-writes-professional-judy\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">homophobic<\/a>\u201d ideology, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/lesbianandgaynews.com\/2021\/04\/obituary-the-rainbow-flag-previously-a-symbol-of-hope-of-the-lesbian-and-gay-civil-rights-movement-died-in-2020-at-the-age-of-42-writes-professional-judy\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">an April 2021 article<\/a> in LesbianAndGayNews.com.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>The alphabet soup happened. Instead of representing a community that is interconnected by our same sex attraction, it became a symbol of something else. As more letters were added that had little to do with each other, it became a symbol of a political ideology that many of us recognise as being homophobic and working against our interests \u2026. It has been stolen from us and twisted into something that is the&nbsp;<span class=\"ILfuVd NA6bn\"><span class=\"hgKElc\">antithesis<\/span><\/span>&nbsp;of what it was meant to be.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Transgenderism reinforces traditional \u201cgender roles\u201d even as it tries to blur the public recognition of the biology-driven physical and psychological differences between males and females. Transgenderism performs this ide0logical flip by claiming that people actually change their sex once they adopt the clothes, works, or cultural preferences associated with men. For example, transgenderism argues that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/politics\/2017\/04\/19\/transgender-nyt-oped-tomboys-are-girls\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">a girl tomboy is really a boy<\/a> because she prefers to play with, and dress like, pre-teen boys.<\/p>\n<p>In practice, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ebar.com\/news\/news\/309044\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">say critics<\/a>, this logic is hateful towards women \u2014 including lesbians \u2014 because it denies women the freedom to remain female if they want to live like men or work in male-dominated careers.<\/p>\n<p>The hate is s<a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/politics\/2019\/04\/17\/time-magazine-endorses-transgender-claim-female-penis\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">ocially pressuring lesbians<\/a> to convert themselves into \u201ctransgender men,\u201d say lesbians:<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">This is the sort of thing I was frankly scared to say when I had a real job but it&#8217;s happening and we shouldn&#8217;t be afraid to talk about it. And I find this out mostly through social media like Instgram \u2014 I\u2019m scrolling through Instagram and another one of my friends comes out as non-binary or trans and shows off their top-surgery scars and announces their new name.<\/p>\n<p>This happened twice yesterday, twice while I\u2019m scrolling through Instagram. This is happening at such a bizarre rate. So for the first 18 years of my life, I need one trans person. And then the last 18 years of my life, literally half of the lesbians I know have transitioned or have decided that they\u2019re non-binary, and I\u2019m not exaggerating when I say half. It\u2019s just an immense and immense number. And it makes me feel like I am crazy that I am the only person within these circles saying, \u201cWait a second, guys, what are you all doing? What is going on here? Why have you all had top surgery? Why are you all changing your names? Why are the people that I knew 10 years ago as all lesbians \u2013why are you all men now? You hated men! You were anti-men! And now you\u2019re all men. She continued:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>Sexual orientation is about attraction to another, and same-sex attracted people are just that \u2013 people attracted to members of the same sex. In particular, lesbians are women who are attracted exclusively to other women, i.e., adult human females.<\/p>\n<p>&gt;So-called \u201cgender identity,\u201d or \u201ctrans\u201d is about a self-identification \u2013 a made-up delusion that one can actually belong to the opposite sex class, or to some entirely invented sex class. The T, Q, etc., are not grounded in the material reality of sex. As such, many lesbian, gay, and bisexual people do not think that these letters ought to be affiliated with L, G, or B people at all. The lie that men can be women is anti-woman and politically regressive.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<div>Dansky\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.goodreads.com\/book\/show\/59589019-the-abolition-of-sex\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">book<\/a> is titled,<em>&nbsp;<\/em>\u201cThe Abolition of Sex: How the \u2018Transgender\u2019 Agenda Harms Women and Girls.\u201d<\/div>\n<p>Transgenderism is powerful because it is paired with \u201ccritical queer theory,\u201d which is popular among young activists, says activist Natasha Chart.<\/p>\n<p>Queer theory, she told Breitbart News, is a run-amuck \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Gray_goo#:~:text=Gray%20goo%20(also%20spelled%20grey,environment%22%2C%20more%20literally%20%22eating\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">grey goo<\/a>\u201d idea that attacks all of the useful intellectual and legal distinctions that allow humans to understand and manage their complex lives and conflicted communities:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<div>\n<p>The basic premise of critical queer theory is that clear definitions and boundaries are oppressive, in and of themselves. If any belief is an unquestioned majority belief, then it is considered \u201chegemonic\u201d and \u201coppressive.\u201d And so every belief, every category, must be queered, must be broken down, and the category boundaries must be erased.<\/p>\n<p>We\u2019re in a world where they decided that [biological] sex is one of those definitional boundaries that is oppressive just for existing. Just the fact that everybody knows that sex exists, and it\u2019s unchangeable, and there are two [male or female] kinds, is by definition under the [queer]\n<p>All of our rights and freedoms depend on having clear meanings for terms, they depend on having clear understandings of common ideas., And queer theory is the idea that having clear understandings of anything is categorically oppressive.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>\u201cIt is categorically homophobic \u2014 it\u2019s heterophobic for that matter,\u201d Chart added. \u201cIf a man can declare himself a [transgender] woman and insist that other men be attracted to him and that [relationship] should still be considered a heterosexual relationship, what do you even call that? That would be ridiculous.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>If a lesbian is in a relationship with a woman who declares herself to be a transgender man, then transgender activists relabel the lesbian as a \u201cstraight\u201d heterosexual woman.&nbsp;And when a lesbian refuses to have sex with a \u201ctransgender\u201d man and his \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/politics\/2019\/04\/17\/time-magazine-endorses-transgender-claim-female-penis\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">female penis<\/a>,\u201d then the <a href=\"https:\/\/terfisaslur.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">transgender advocates<\/a> redefine her as a \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/politics\/2019\/11\/18\/andrew-sullivan-transgender-ideology-targets-gays-lesbians\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">transphobic<\/a>\u201d bigot who enforces the \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/europe\/2021\/10\/29\/left-left-war-trans-activists-condemn-bbc-article-lesbians-pressured-date-trans-women\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">cotton ceiling<\/a>\u201d against the desires of men.<\/p>\n<p>But the queer theory \u2014 and funding from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.firstthings.com\/web-exclusives\/2020\/01\/the-billionaires-behind-the-lgbt-movement\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">wealthy donors<\/a> \u2014 has overwhelmed the groups that once championed lesbians and gays.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI can\u2019t think of a single LGBT organization or formerly lesbian rights organization looking out for the interests of lesbian and gay men,\u201d Belissa Cohen <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ebar.com\/news\/news\/309044\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">told<\/a> the <em>Bay Area Reporter<\/em> in September 2021.&nbsp;\u201cWe used to have lesbian bars, gay male bars, and now they\u2019re all \u2018queer.&#8217;\u201d<\/p>\n<p>This queer theory ensures that progressives \u2014 including transgender activists \u2014 feel entitled to attack the distinct message pushed by the six-color rainbow flag.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPride is about both progress and protest, [so] company involvement in Pride should focus on those in the community most in need of support and change,\u201d argued a June 2021 pro-transgender <a href=\"https:\/\/www.newsweek.com\/rainbow-capitalism-isnt-pride-lgbtq-customers-know-it-opinion-1604904\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">op-ed<\/a> in <em>Newsweek<\/em>.&nbsp; \u201cRight now, that particularly means trans people and people of color,\u2019 the op-ed said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cQueer liberation includes all of us which means we have to honor Black, brown, and trans identities in all queer liberation works,\u201d Rhode Island state Sen. Tiara Mack <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnn.com\/2021\/08\/16\/us\/lgbtq-progress-pride-flag-debate-trnd\/index.html?utm_source=twCNN&amp;utm_medium=social&amp;utm_term=link&amp;utm_content=2021-08-16T19%3A20%3A07\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">told<\/a> CNN in August 2021.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The Expanding Flag<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Philadephia politicians added the black and brown arrows to tout claims for Black and Hispanic rights.
