\/><\/div>\n<p class=\"subheading\">Police in Belgium have blocked vehicles taking part in Freedom Convoy demonstrations from accessing Brussels, the de facto capital of the EU, as authorities across the world implement a crackdown on the movement.<\/p>\n<p>Vehicles looking to take part in the EU\u2019s Freedom Convoy protest have been targeted by Belgian police, with authorities redirecting suspicious traffic to a car park north of Brussels in the hopes of curbing the anti-lockdown demo.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"D-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"gmxrevmore\" class=\"H\"><\/figure>\n<p>While authorities have permitted a so-called \u201cstatic demonstration\u201d to occur at the car park near the Brussels Expo building, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/europe\/2022\/02\/14\/they-cant-stop-us-freedom-convoy-rolls-into-eus-capital-despite-government-ban\/\">ban<\/a> on any Canada-style anti-lockdown protest in the city proper remains banned by authorities.<\/p>\n<p>According to a Euronews <a href=\"https:\/\/www.euronews.com\/my-europe\/2022\/02\/14\/brussels-on-edge-as-freedom-convoy-threatens-to-disrupt-city-centre-and-european-quarter\">report<\/a>, over 1,300 vehicles had gathered in Lille \u2014 near the Belgian border \u2014 for the protest, but police had redirected any suspicious traffic looking to enter the country away from the European capital and towards the designated car park.<\/p>\n<p>Some of those looking to protest lockdown measures were subsequently allowed to enter the city on foot, where a smaller gathering took place, but multimedia organisation Bruzz <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bruzz.be\/mobiliteit\/dertigtal-betogers-vrijheidskonvooi-administratief-aangehouden-2022-02-14\">reports<\/a> that these demonstrators quickly found themselves surrounded by riot police.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<p>\u201cWe are preventing the demonstrators from going further into the centre,\u201d the publication notes a police spokesman as saying on the matter.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs long as they do not obstruct traffic and do not run amok, we will tolerate the current demonstration for a while,\u201d they also said.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.euronews.com\/my-europe\/2022\/02\/14\/brussels-on-edge-as-freedom-convoy-threatens-to-disrupt-city-centre-and-european-quarter\">Meanwhile<\/a>, Strasbourg prefecture in France \u2014 another centre point for European power \u2014 also implemented a general ban on all \u201cundeclared demonstrations\u201d near the European parliament, with authorities fearing that several heartland are mirrored by the ever-more-stringent measures being used by other powers to quell the anti-lockdown demonstrations in their respective countries.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B3\" class=\"a8d adSo\"><\/figure>\n<p>Authorities in France managed to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/world\/2022\/feb\/14\/french-covid-freedom-convoy-heads-for-brussels-despite-police-warning\">successfully block<\/a> the majority of Freedom Convoy participants from entering Paris, meanwhile utilising tear gas on the vehicles that managed to sneak through the police blockade and gather in the city centre.<\/p>\n<p>Police in New Zealand meanwhile had <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/europe\/2022\/02\/12\/new-zealands-covid-cops-fail-to-disperse-freedom-convoy-with-80s-music-and-vax-propaganda\/\">attempted<\/a> to disperse anti-lockdown protesters from their position outside the country\u2019s parliament by blaring music from the 1980s and 1990s, including the <em>Macarena<\/em>.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"D-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<p>However, the measure seems to have little effect, with those participating in the Freedom Convoy demo merely blaring back their own music in retaliation, including&nbsp;Twister Sister\u2019s <em>We\u2019re Not Gonna Take It.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>By far the most extreme crackdown on Freedom Party protests however has been those seen in Canada, with the nation\u2019s far-left Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/europe\/2022\/02\/14\/justin-trudeau-grabs-powers-under-never-before-used-emergencies-act-to-stomp-out-trucker-protests\/\">invoking<\/a> never before used emergency powers to stamp out the protests.<\/p>\n<p>Trudeau has since threatened to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/politics\/2022\/02\/14\/trudeau-threatens-freeze-assets-suspend-insurance-freedom-convoy-truckers\/\">freeze<\/a> the assets of protesters, while his government said that they would <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/politics\/2022\/02\/14\/trudeau-targets-crowdfunding-platforms-cryptocurrencies-under-terrorist-financing-rules\/\">target<\/a> crowdfunding platforms and cryptocurrency transactions that are aiding the demonstrations under newly expanded&nbsp;anti-money laundering and terrorist financing laws.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B4\" class=\"a8d adSo\"><\/figure>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Justin Trudeau Grabs Powers Under Never-Before Used Emergencies Act to Stomp demonstrators on the outskirts of Brussels remain largely positive, with there being reports that the Convoy demonstration may yet ramp up in the EU capital.<\/p>\n<p>According to a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.brusselstimes.com\/belgium-all-news\/206352\/thousands-more-are-coming-freedom-convoys-quiet-start-could-be-deceptive\">report<\/a> by the&nbsp;<em>Brussels Times<\/em>, protesters have been learning from their mistakes, with those looking to join the demonstrations in the EU capital being told to enter Belgium in a more discreet manner to avoid detection.<\/p>\n<p>Bruzz also <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bruzz.be\/mobiliteit\/dertigtal-betogers-vrijheidskonvooi-administratief-aangehouden-2022-02-14\">reports<\/a> that it is mainly Dutch and French vehicles occupying the Brussels Expo car park, with vehicles looking to attend proceedings from Germany notably absent from the holding location.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThousands of cars are still arriving from Paris,\u201d one woman also <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bruzz.be\/samenleving\/gestrand-op-parking-c-tegen-vaccins-maar-ook-tegen-hoge-brandstofprijzen-2022-02-14\">told<\/a> the publication, with another claiming that those stuck in Lille were still looking to attend events.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere are still 1,300 cars in Lille, ready to go,\u201d he is reported as
