Biden\u2019s approval rating among independents in swing states is low: Arizona (19 percent), Florida (24 percent), Georgia (25 percent), Michigan (19 percent), Nevada (24 percent), New Hampshire (27 percent), North Carolina (23 percent), Ohio (21 percent), Pennsylvania (28 percent), Texas (21 percent), and Wisconsin (26 percent).<\/p>\n<p>Though still terrible, Biden\u2019s strongest polling among independents is in Vermont (32 percent) and Maine (34 percent), the only states to reach the 30s.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<p>Biden\u2019s best-performing independent demographic is among black individuals. Only 39 percent approved of Biden, while 41 percent disapproved. Overall, 63 percent of black individuals approve of Biden. Nineteen percent do not.<\/p>\n<p>Biden\u2019s poor polling numbers will likely impact the November midterm elections. Republicans are seeking to reclaim the House and Senate majorities. Democrats hold a five-seat margin in the House and a one-seat advantage in the Senate with the vice president\u2019s tie-breaking vote.<\/p>\n<p>Republicans are polling better than Democrats on a generic ballot, meaning more voters support Republicans than Democrats regardless of who the congressional candidate may be.<\/p>\n<p>One downside for Republicans is the redistricting battle. Democrats have done well for themselves due to Republicans\u2019 lack of aggressiveness. Several states have yet to complete the process.
