Health officials reported four additional cases of the disease on February 14, bringing Suzhou\u2019s coronavirus caseload to eight at press time.<\/p>\n<p>Communist Party officials in charge of Suzhou <a href=\"https:\/\/www.caixinglobal.com\/2022-02-14\/suzhou-limits-medical-services-suspends-schools-after-covid-cases-emerged-101841547.html\">suspended<\/a> \u201conline and in-person sales of anti-fever medicine as well as part of hospitals\u2019 outpatient and emergency medical services\u201d on February 13, China\u2019s Caixin Global news platform reported on Monday.<\/p>\n<p>Suzhou\u2019s government issued an edict requiring \u201conline and offline pharmacies suspend the sale of four categories of epidemic-related drugs, including antipyretic, cough, antiviral and antibacterial medicines,\u201d the <em>Global Times<\/em> detailed.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<p>At least 39 of Suzhou\u2019s districts were forced into lockdown on February 14 in an effort to contain the city\u2019s latest coronavirus epidemic, according to the newspaper.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSuzhou residents are required to stay home, avoid gathering and wear masks. They are asked to avoid leaving the city unless it is absolutely necessary. Schools will delay their new semesters, while all training institutes have been closed,\u201d&nbsp;Shine, <em>Shanghai Daily<\/em>\u2018s online news outlet, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.shine.cn\/news\/metro\/2202141873\/\">revealed<\/a> on February 14.<\/p>\n<p>All of Suzhou\u2019s kindergartens, middle schools, and elementary schools closed on Monday to facilitate the lockdowns. Municipal authorities canceled all public gatherings in Suzhou for an undisclosed amount of time on February 14 while additionally shuttering all movie theaters, internet cafes, karaoke bars, mahjong parlors, chess rooms, and pubs.<\/p>\n<p>Suzhou is located just 55 miles west of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/asia\/2022\/02\/02\/china-fights-yet-another-coronavirus-outbreak-in-shanghai-suburb\/\">Shanghai<\/a>, which is China\u2019s most populous urban area.
