The new change \u201cwould have to shift our priorities\u201d to the NASA location in Florida.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Elon Musk said SpaceX is ready to use a Florida location to test the massive rocket it has been developing if flight-safety regulators require an additional environmental review of a company facility in Texas <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/lqM5gZ1nVw\">https:\/\/t.co\/lqM5gZ1nVw<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 The Wall Street Journal (@WSJ) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/WSJ\/status\/1492585572032032770?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">February 12, 2022<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>\u201cWe don\u2019t have a ton of insight into where things stand with the FAA,\u201d Musk <a href=\"https:\/\/spacenews.com\/spacex-considers-shifting-starship-testing-to-florida\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">said<\/a> regarding the current FAA plan, according to Space News. \u201cWe have gotten sort of a rough indication that there may be an approval in March, but that\u2019s all we know.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The plan was expected to be completed in December but was later changed to the end of February.<\/p>\n<p>If the report requires a more extended environmental impact statement, Musk plans to look to Florida to continue his launch plans. \u201cIt would obviously set us back for quite some time because an EIS takes a lot longer than an EA, so we would have to shift our priorities to Cape Kennedy,\u201d he said in the report.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI guess our worst-case scenario is that we would be delayed for six to eight months to build up the Cape launch tower and launch from there,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p>Despite the delays,&nbsp;Musk stated, \u201cOptimistically, toward the end of next year. I would be surprised if it is longer than two years for doing the refilling.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMusk said that his biggest challenge was on refilling oxygen aboard the ship, rather than fuel as it needed 3.5 times more liquid oxygen,\u201d&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailymail.co.uk\/news\/article-10501083\/SpaceX-CEO-Elon-Musk-says-Starship-make-launch-year-awaiting-FAA-approval-March.html\">The Daily Mail<\/a> reported. As The Daily Wire previously <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/elon-musk-starship-could-reach-orbit-this-year\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">reported<\/a>:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p><em>SpaceX is attempting to gain a launch license from the FAA, which is considering giving approval to launch Starship out of Boca Chica, Texas. \u201cThe agency is responsible for ensuring that launches to orbit do not pose a hazard to uninvolved people or property,\u201d&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.theverge.com\/2022\/2\/11\/22927706\/elon-musk-spacex-starship-update-boca-chica-texas\">The Verge<\/a>&nbsp;noted.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Musk stated, \u201cWe don\u2019t have a ton of insight into the way things stand with the FAA. We have gotten sort of a rough indication that there may be an approval in March.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cThe FAA cleared SpaceX to launch out of Boca Chica back in 2014, even prepping a full environment impact statement, or EIS, to detail how the launch site would affect the surrounding area and wildlife refuge. But that approval was decided back when SpaceX planned to launch its smaller Falcon 9 and Falcon Heavy rockets from the area,\u201d The Verge added.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Musk has also continued to speak out on political issues in recent weeks.
