The New York Times\u2019 Science section <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/NYTScience\/status\/1492319547885600773\">tweeted<\/a>, \u201cFar from a head bump that might have been shrugged off, the autopsy described an unmistakably serious set of injuries that would at the very least have probably left someone confused, brain experts said.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>CNN chief medical correspondent Dr. Sanjay Gupta \u2014 a neurosurgeon by trade \u2014 laid out the details of the report during a segment of \u201cNew Day,\u201d saying, \u201cI think what it reveals more than anything else is that this was not a sort of simple bump on the head.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He went on to say that early reports \u2014 even after the <a href=\"https:\/\/dailywire.com\/news\/breaking-bob-sagets-family-announces-cause-of-death\/\">cause of death<\/a> was released earlier in the week \u2014 suggested the comedian had possibly bumped his head getting into bed and not realized that anything was wrong.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhen you read this autopsy report, that may still be the case, but it was a very significant blow to the head,\u201d Gupta continued, pointing out that the skull fractures were extensive enough to stretch from the back of Saget\u2019s head around to his right temporal bone \u2013 and that there were additional fractures on the front of his skull as well.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn order to do that \u2014 when I first saw this, if I knew nothing else about what had happened, you would think that maybe this was someone who had fallen down the stairs and had several impacts to the head or been unrestrained in a car accident,\u201d Gupta said. \u201cI mean, it was that degree of force.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhatever happened here, I mean we may never know the exact \u2014 like how he fell or what happened, but it was a significant blow that caused that, and likely the bleeding on top of the brain \u2026 sadly, led to him becoming unconscious and then dying,\u201d he concluded.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">CNN&#8217;s Dr. Sanjay Gupta examines actor and comedian Bob Saget&#8217;s autopsy report and says the report reveals what seems to be signs of a significant blow to the head <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/ZExvcfXyTk\">https:\/\/t.co\/ZExvcfXyTk<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/I0YLeARRW5\">pic.twitter.com\/I0YLeARRW5<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 CNN (@CNN) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/CNN\/status\/1492173945570795527?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">February 11, 2022<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Emergency physician Dr. Megan Ranney appeared to agree with Gupta\u2019s assessment, tweeting,&nbsp;\u201cThis is not a \u2018slip &amp; fall\u2019. Something doesn\u2019t make sense given his severe head injuries,\u201d former AUSA-SDNY Richard Signorelli <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/richsignorelli\/status\/1492301151865389064\">said<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Washington Examiner chief political correspondent Byron York questioned whether the initial investigation had been thorough enough, given the questions raised by the final autopsy report.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is really odd. Makes you wonder about the thoroughness of the original investigation of the scene,\u201d he <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/ByronYork\/status\/1492304804009418753\">tweeted<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Saget passed away in Florida in early January, as The Daily Wire <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/breaking-legendary-comedian-bob-saget-dies-at-65\">reported<\/a>:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p><em>Legendary comedian Bob Saget was pronounced dead on Sunday in Florida at 65-years-old.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cEarlier today, deputies were called to the Ritz-Carlton Orlando, Grande Lakes for a call about an unresponsive man in a hotel room,\u201d the Orange County Sheriff\u2019s Office said in a statement. \u201cThe man was identified as Robert Saget &amp; pronounced deceased on scene.
