Phil Murphy (D), for example, is <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/politics\/2022\/02\/07\/some-blue-states-end-mask-mandates-joining-bidens-pivot-midterms\/\">ending<\/a> mask mandates for school children in March, as is Delaware Gov. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/politics\/2022\/02\/07\/delaware-gov-john-carney-announces-end-indoor-mask-mandate\/\">John Carney<\/a> (D). Massachusetts Gov. Charlie Baker (R) is also lifting the state\u2019s school mask mandate, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/politics\/2022\/02\/10\/massachusetts-gov-charlie-baker-lifting-school-mask-mandate\/\">announcing<\/a> on Wednesday it will&nbsp;not extend beyond February 28.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"D-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"gmxrevmore\" class=\"H\"><\/figure>\n<p>However, while some governors are simply kicking the mandates to the local level, children will still not be completely free of masks, as Biden\u2019s federal regulations still require children to wear masks on buses.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSchool buses are subject to federal masking regulations,\u201d Alyana Alfaro, a spokeswoman for Gov. (Win McNamee\/Getty Images)<\/em><\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n<p>New Jersey\u2019s Freehold Regional High School District also emphasized this point in an email to families.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt is important to note, the end of the mask mandate does not relate to school buses,\u201d it wrote, citing the federal requirement that \u201cmasks be work on public transportation remains in place.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis means that while riding on a school bus, a mask must still be worn,\u201d it wrote.<\/p>\n<p>Similarly, Massachusetts state education commissioner Jeffrey Riley <a class=\"x5l\" href=\"https:\/\/whdh.com\/news\/baker-mass-to-lift-school-mask-mandate-at-end-of-month\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener external\">explained<\/a> that children will be required to wear masks on buses due to federal regulations, despite the state <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/politics\/2022\/02\/10\/massachusetts-gov-charlie-baker-lifting-school-mask-mandate\/\">lifting<\/a> the school mask mandate February 28.<\/p>\n<p>Needless to say, this federal requirements stands across the board, applying to every state, even those that are lifting their school mask requirements.<\/p>\n<p>According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) masks are <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cdc.gov\/coronavirus\/2019-ncov\/travelers\/face-masks-public-transportation.html\">required<\/a> for public transportation conveyance, which it describes as \u201cany mode of transportation other than a private vehicle.\u201d That includes \u201cairplanes, trains, subways, buses, taxis, ride-shares, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cdc.gov\/coronavirus\/2019-ncov\/travelers\/face-masks-public-transportation.html#Maritime\">maritime transportation<\/a>, trolleys, and cable cars.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>While Biden initially <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/politics\/2021\/04\/27\/no-end-of-masks-in-sight-despite-president-bidens-original-plan-for-just-100-days-of-masking\/\">promised<\/a> \u201cjust\u201d 100 days of masking, he has gone far beyond that point and has shown no signs of lifting the federal mask requirement for airplanes or buses, continually extending it. It is currently scheduled to end March 18, but the White House has shown no signs of lifting it early.
