Joe Manchin, disagrees.<\/p>\n<p>As prices have&nbsp;<a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/economy\/2022\/02\/10\/january-cpi\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">increased<\/a>&nbsp;7.5 percent and weekly wages have&nbsp;<a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/economy\/2022\/02\/10\/bidenflation-kills-wage-gains\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">decreased<\/a>&nbsp;3.1 percent, the reigning party in Washington, DC, believes spending taxpayer money will eliminate inflation pressures that have been fueled by Democrat policies. Congressional Democrats&nbsp;<a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/email.punchbowl.news\/t\/ViewEmail\/t\/605B9B65925B16042540EF23F30FEDED\/285B195D379BF34946778398EADC2510?alternativeLink=False\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">told<\/a>&nbsp;Punchbowl News that handouts are the best way forward.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"D-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"gmxrevmore\" class=\"H\"><\/figure>\n<p>Democrats also told the publication they would be in favor of subsidizing&nbsp;prescription drugs, shipping companies, rent, and families who have children. Democrats also proposed amnesty and cutting the federal gas tax to tackle inflation.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWant to know three things we can do? Making child care more accessible, more affordable. Addressing the housing through programs that already exist, [the] HOME, CDBG and others. And do a comprehensive immigration bill. That would help with inflation,\u201d Sen. Jon Tester<strong>&nbsp;<\/strong>(D-MT) told Punchbowl.<\/p>\n<p>Sen. Amy Klobuchar&nbsp;(D-MN) expressed her desire to subsidize the supply chain. \u201cWell, the focus that we must have now is on everything from supply chains. Sen. [John] Thune and I have put out a bill on finally taking on the shipping industry.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<div id=\"attachment_18044914\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/Democrat-and-Republican-Congressmembers.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-18044914\" src=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/Democrat-and-Republican-Congressmembers.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"480\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-caption-text\">Sen. Ron Wyden (D-OR) argued for subsidizing prescription drugs and spending more money to reduce inflation. Wyden said the Democrats are still debating how to spend money:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>The best antidote you can do here in the Senate from the standpoint of fighting inflation is really two things \u2013 Number one, cutting costs, which is what I\u2019m all about with the prescription drug bill\u2026 And then making sure, and this is what I\u2019m focused on in the Finance Committee, is that we will have the resources to pay for what the caucus wants to invest in. And we\u2019re still having that debate.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The Democrats\u2019 plan to spend their way out of 40-year-high inflation does not agree with everyone. Sen. Joe Manchin (D-WV), who hails from a state that nearly voted for Donald Trump in 2020 by nearly 40 percentage points,&nbsp;<a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/www.bloomberg.com\/news\/articles\/2022-02-10\/biden-gets-inflation-wake-up-call-as-odds-rise-for-gop-takeover?srnd=premium&amp;sref=Hpp1MmFS\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">told<\/a>&nbsp;West Virginia MetroNews radio the nation is not in a financial position to subsidize more programs.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe bottom line is right now we\u2019re not in a financial position to do it,\u201d he said, later echoing his position in a statement.&nbsp;\u201cInflation taxes are draining the hard-earned wages of every American. Congress and the administration must proceed with caution before adding more fuel to an economy already on fire.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>With the midterms around the corner, Democrats are seeking a way to retain power.
