DFEH Director Kevin Kish said in a statement: \u201cAfter receiving hundreds of complaints from workers, DFEH found evidence that Tesla\u2019s Fremont factory is a racially segregated workplace where Black workers are subjected to racial slurs and discriminated against in job assignments, discipline, pay, and promotion creating a hostile work environment.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The DFEH alleges that a wide range of discriminatory behavior and language was used at the company\u2019s Fremont factory. Defendants allege that they regularly hear workers, managers, and supervisors using racial slurs such as the n-word, \u201cmonkey toes,\u201d and \u201chood rat.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Employees reportedly referred to areas of the factory where many Black employees worked as the \u201cporch monkey station,\u201d and defendants allege that managers and supervisors at the company were either&nbsp;\u201cactive participants and\/or witnesses to these racist comments.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<div id=\"attachment_9431098\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/Elon-Musk-confused.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-9431098\" src=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/Elon-Musk-confused.jpg\" alt=\"Elon Musk of Tesla confused\" width=\"640\" height=\"480\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-caption-text\">(Getty\/Peter Parks)<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>It was also alleged that racist graffiti was left in break rooms, restrooms, and workstations. The graffiti included phrases like&nbsp;\u201call monkeys work outside,\u201d \u201cfuck [n-words]\u201d and \u201chang [n-words]\u201d next to a drawing of a noose. The defendants claim these messages were \u201cleft up for months.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The DFEH also claims that Black employees were given the most physically demanding jobs and told they were \u201cbetter suited\u201d to the work. Black workers allege that they were also more frequently penalized for workplace infractions than non-Black colleagues.<\/p>\n<p>Tesla was quick to deny the charges before the lawsuit had even been filed, saying in a statement:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>Once the DFEH files its lawsuit, Tesla will be asking the court to pause the case and take other steps to ensure that facts and evidence will be heard. To date, despite repeated requests, the DFEH has declined to provide Tesla with the specific allegations or the factual bases for its lawsuit. Attacking a company like Tesla that has done so much good for California should not be the overriding aim of a state agency with prosecutorial authority. The interests of workers and fundamental fairness must come first.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Tesla was previously sued for racial harassment and discrimination at its Fremont facility and in October last year, a judge <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/news\/us-jury-orders-tesla-to-pay-ex-employee-137-million-over-racism\/\">awarded<\/a> a black former employee $137 million in damages.
