Their only stance is opposition to political indoctrination of any kind in school.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Speaking to Breitbart News, the \u201cUndercover Mothers\u201d detailed what they believe to be an effort at \u201celite capture\u201d of private school kids by Marxist ideologues, hoping to control the worldview of those likely to be influential when they grow up; as one explained, \u201c1.2 percent of the nation\u2019s children go to private schools, but a third of Biden\u2019s cabinet went to these schools \u2026 once you\u2019ve got the elite organizations, that changes the entire makeup of the country.\u201d<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p>The identities of the mothers speaking out have been withheld due to fear of retribution against them and their children. NAIS member private schools across America are including provisions in enrollment contracts prohibiting them from \u201c[voicing] strong disagreement\u201d with school policy or curricula, under threat of expulsion. Multiple similar contracts were reviewed by Breitbart News from schools in various states in reporting this story.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<p>One of those contracts reviewed by Breitbart News states:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p class=\"p3\"><b>School\/Family Cooperation <\/b>\u2013 A positive and constructive relationship between the School and Family Member \u2026 is essential to the School\u2019s educational purpose and responsibilities to its students. If any Family Member<\/p>\n<ul class=\"ul1\">\n<li class=\"li3\">Engages in behavior, communications, or interactions off campus, that is disruptive, intimidating, overly aggressive, or reflects a loss of confidence in or disagreement with the School\u2019s policies, methods of instruction, discipline,<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"li3\">Otherwise interferes or voices strong disagreement with the School\u2019s safety or health procedures, responsibilities, or accomplishment of its educational purpose or program\u2026<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"p3\">The School reserves the right to place restrictions on the Family Member\u2019s involvement or activity at School \u2026 The School also reserves the right to withdraw an offer of enrollment or re-enrollment or to void an executed enrollment contract \u2026<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p class=\"p3\">Multiple mothers who spoke to Breitbart News have already been dismissed from school involvement, and one mother was forced to remove her children from the school they were attending or face expulsion, all for vocalizing their concerns over their kids\u2019 education.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_19821426\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-19821426\" src=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/IMG_3602-copy-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"813\" height=\"634\" \/><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-caption-text\">The website of the National Association of Independent Schools (Breitbart News)<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p class=\"p3\">The <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/UndercoverMoth9\"><span>\u201cUndercover Mothers\u201d<\/span><\/a> group was formed after former New York City private high school math teacher Paul Rossi <a href=\"https:\/\/bariweiss.substack.com\/p\/i-refuse-to-stand-by-while-my-students\"><span>published an open letter<\/span><\/a> blowing the whistle on the rampant indoctrination in America\u2019s schools via critical theory. The group has grown to about one hundred participants across the country, since it formed in the spring of 2021.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\">\u201cWe came together as a part of what really began with Paul Rossi and his letter. Many of us saw his letter, which included his email address, many of us emailed him, he connected a few of us and here we are,\u201d one mom told Breitbart News. \u201cWe started talking, and talking about our experiences and why we were moved by Paul\u2019s letter, and it turned out that most of us had had almost identical experiences in different schools \u2026 in different regions all around the country, north, south, east, west, Midwest, Pacific Northwest, everywhere. And that became kind of an alarming realization.\u201d<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\">The mothers formed a group chat on encrypted messaging app Signal, connecting initially over their shared experiences with their respective schools, their shared disgust for their children\u2019s curricula, and their mutual frustration with unresponsive school administrators, and the similarities across the country pointing to centralized coordination.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B3\" class=\"a8d adSo\"><\/figure>\n<p class=\"p3\">They then set out to map the structure of power over the education system, to pinpoint the entities responsible for the decay.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\">\u201cIt was very eye opening, that the same exact things were happening, and not just the same books and the same lessons, but also the same kind of school structures that hadn\u2019t been that way in decades past,\u201d a mom told Breitbart News. \u201cHow they function and how they are administrated is no longer \u2026 individual [to each school]. They\u2019re all very, very similar. And in fact, some of them use identical language \u2026 and that is very fishy. And then once we did our research, we realized that it\u2019s because it\u2019s coming from these centralized sources with NAIS acting as a cartel.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure id=\"D-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<p class=\"p3\">The main source identified by the inquiring moms is the NAIS, the national accreditation association for private schools across the country, which is registered as a 501(c)(3) and is technically prohibited from engaging in political advocacy in official capacity.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\">\u201c[F]or their organizations to remain tax exempt under section 501(c)(3), leaders cannot make partisan comments in official organization publications or at official functions of the organization,\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/www.irs.gov\/charities-non-profits\/charitable-organizations\/frequently-asked-questions-about-the-ban-on-political-campaign-intervention-by-501c3-organizations-constitutional-considerations\"><span>the IRS website says<\/span><\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\">The NAIS was formed in 1962 \u2014 much younger than many of the schools it accredits \u2014 and then has regional accreditation associations that branch out from the national organization.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B4\" class=\"a8d adSo\"><\/figure>\n<p class=\"p3\">When the moms investigated what factors are considered in accreditation, they found \u201ctwo thirds of it was focused on social justice, diversity, equity, inclusion, and nothing about it was focused on actually educating the kids.\u201d<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\">The NAIS statement on Vision, Mission, and Values for 2021 says values include \u201cembracing diversity, championing inclusivity, and empowering community.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\">\u201cAll learners find pathways to success through the independence, innovation, and diversity of our schools, creating a more equitable world,\u201d the NAIS Vision statement says.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\">\u201cWhen schools implement diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives, they often seek to re-educate employees on their awareness of such issues as implicit bias and white privilege,\u201d a summary of the annual NAIS teacher training, reviewed by Breitbart News, says.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\">A NAIS Trustee Handbook called \u201cDiversity Work in Independent Schools,\u201d reviewed by Breitbart News, provides tips for schools on how to work around federal laws prohibiting student admission based on race.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\">\u201cYou need a justification for an admissions policy that includes considerations of race. A justification might include noting that diversity has \u2018substantial\u2019 benefits in your education environment, including preparing students to live in a diverse working world, breaking down stereotypes, and encouraging invigorating classroom discussion,\u201d the manual says.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\">\u201cIt is particularly important that the board exhibit its commitment to equity and justice through its own composition, practices, and public advocacy,\u201d another passage in the Trustee Handbook says, \u201cYou ensure that the board lives out a strong commitment to equity and justice in all that you do and say.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\">The NAIS \u201cHopes and Fears\u201d Handbook, for sale on their website, describes certain parents the association calls \u201cThe 5 Percenters\u201d \u2014 a group the \u201cUndercover Mothers\u201d would presumably be included in.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_19821490\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-19821490\" src=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/Screen-Shot-2022-02-09-at-2.03.07-PM.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"452\" \/><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-caption-text\">The cover of the NAIS \u201cHope and Fears\u201d handbook<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p class=\"p3\">\u201cThe parents we call 5 percenters are different. Very. They cannot be soothed or reasoned with, no matter how hard the school tries. For a number of sad psychological reasons, they provoke and sustain an abrasive, aggrieved, unhappy, mistrustful relationship with the school, sometimes for years,\u201d the manual says.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\">\u201cEducators often find it very hard to understand why some parents cannot form and sustain a cooperative, trusting relationship with them. One immediate cause is mental illness,\u201d the explanation of the \u201c5 percenters\u201d continues.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\">NAIS did not respond when reached for comment by Breitbart News.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\">Through further research, mothers in the group also found educational consultant Carney, Sandoe &amp; Associates, which they discovered is responsible for recruitment and placement of headmasters at private schools across the country.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\">Carney, Sandoe &amp; Associates, on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.carneysandoe.com\/diversity\/resources\"><span>their website<\/span><\/a>, boasts a commitment to \u201cthe importance of increasing equity, diversity and inclusion \u2014 both within our own organization and among the educational communities with whom we partner,\u201d and offers \u201cimplicit and cognitive bias training for search committees\u201d as part of their services.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\">Carney, Sandoe &amp; Associates did not respond when reached for comment by Breitbart News.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\">The group of concerned moms keeps up <a href=\"https:\/\/undercovermother.substack.com\/\"><span>a newsletter on substack<\/span><\/a>, which chronicles their observations and findings on the private school system and aims to expose NAIS and sound the alarm to other parents. The newsletter has seen exponential growth since Thanksgiving, receiving 10,000 views on posts within 24 hours of publishing.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\">\u201cWe are a Mom Collective with children in independent schools. We circle our young to protect them from the abuse being inflicted by schools and the cartels of the regional and National Association of Independent Schools,\u201d their bio on substack reads.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\">The moms also operate <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/UndercoverMoth9\"><span>a Twitter account<\/span><\/a>, where they post updates, news, retweet relevant information, and link to their substack.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\">\u201cParents need to be aware of what NAIS is and what their long-term goals have been and where they\u2019re going, and then the parents need to pressure our own schools to cut ties with NAIS and then take our own schools back \u2014 with more transparency in selecting trustees, and allowing the parents to have a voice and be a real partner, instead of just saying that they\u2019re partners in school leadership and management,\u201d one of the moms told Breitbart News.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\">The mothers are raising alarm about schools\u2019 effort to alienate their kids from them, as the school assumes increasing responsibility for child rearing and conceals from parents what the kids are learning.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\">\u201cNAIS schools now say to you, \u2018you hand your child to me, you, as a parent, you\u2019re now called a caregiver, and you only write the tuition check, and you only donate \u2026 money \u2026 you do that, and we are [in charge of] the moral, ethical development of your child; we decide if your child is a boy or a girl, and to what extent you are privy to that information; we teach them moral character; we tell them that your moral character is wrong, is outdated.\u2019 \u2026 So they are doing exactly nothing of what they promised. And NAIS has captured institutions and is doing exactly what public schools, the Board of Education, wants to do to the schools, which is to remove parents and put them outside the classroom, outside of the school altogether,\u201d another mom continued.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\">\u201cWhat we\u2019re trying to do is we\u2019re trying to raise the red flag and we\u2019re trying to ring the alarm bells, with the intention of not just exposing, but also informing, in a non judgmental way.\u201d<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\">The informal and independent group has participants from all across the political spectrum, including a number of moms who were once politically active Democrats.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\">\u201cI thought Trump was a loser [in 2016],\u201d one mom from California told Breitbart News. \u201cI used to be a hardcore Democrat and worked for Democrats in campaigns, and for Democratic causes, and donated to Democratic causes. And I thought Trump was just, like, a joke in 2016. But then I voted for him in 2020.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\">\u201cI was a Democratic donor, I was a nonprofit board member, I have emails and correspondence with the biggest progressives in this country, you know, we were on first name basis, I would socialize with them,\u201d another mom from New York City explained.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\">\u201cYou can quote me on this,\u201d she continued, \u201cThey don\u2019t want to mess with us to the level where they want to expose us and go after us individually, because if they do a simple political giving search, they will see that so many of us maxed out to Obama, maxed out to Hillary, and that\u2019s going to look really bad because their narrative is that this is a far right-wing conspiracy, and \u2019they\u2019re ginning up their base before the midterms,\u2019 \u2014 that is not the case.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\">\u201cThere are more [Undercover Mothers] in our midst who have been in a room with [House Speaker] Nancy Pelosi, in her office at the Capitol or at fundraisers, sat across from [Sen.] Kirsten Gillibrand \u2026 and many other progressive Democrats \u2026 than they would prefer to see,\u201d the New York City mom went on. <span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are the mothers of America. We\u2019re every race, religion, ethnicity, whatever you want to say \u2014 we\u2019re the mothers of America. That\u2019s all we are. We just care about our children. We care about the future for our children in this country.
