Ronny Jackson (R-TX) in signing a letter, including Republican leadership members House Republican Conference chairwoman Rep. Elise Stefanik of New York, GOP conference vice chairman Mike Johnson of Louisiana, Republican Study Committee chairman Rep. Jim Banks of Indiana, and several members of the GOP Doctors Caucus.<\/p>\n<p>In their letter, they express \u201cconcern\u201d with Biden\u2019s \u201ccurrent cognitive state.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Jackson has long questioned Biden\u2019s mental acuity.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMy colleagues and I are again asking President Biden to immediately undergo a formal cognitive screening exam, such as the Montreal Cognitive Assessment (MOCA),\u201d Jackson <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/politics\/republicans-urge-biden-cognitive-test-assume-worst\">told<\/a> Fox News Digital in an email.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs a former physician to three Presidents of the United States, I know what it takes mentally and physically to execute the duties of Commander-in-Chief and Head of State,\u201d Jackson said. \u201cJoe Biden has continually proven to me and to the world that something isn\u2019t right. The American people deserve to have absolute confidence in their President\u2019s cognitive ability.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Jackson said Biden\u2019s taking \u201cthe cognitive test will be an important first step\u201d to reassure Americans that he is fit for office. Or, he said, the test could help \u201cin identifying and properly treating symptoms of impairment that are consistent with a variety of cognitive diseases, such as Alzheimer\u2019s, vascular dementia, Parkinson\u2019s, or multiple sclerosis.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The doctor also said all Americans should be interested in the findings.&nbsp;\u201cThis is not a partisan issue. When I discussed taking a cognitive test with President Trump, he was eager to assure the American people and to put the fake news media\u2019s stories to bed,\u201d the former presidential doctor wrote. \u201cWhy won\u2019t President Biden do the same?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe can only assume the worst if he doesn\u2019t submit to the same standard that his own party demanded of the last administration,\u201d he added. \u201cThe precedent has been set.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.scribd.com\/document\/557637810\/Rep-Jackson-Biden-Cognitive-Letter-to-President-Biden?secret_password=0uu1nLsDHgstHROGHXds\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">letter<\/a>, the Republicans say that they \u201cbelieve that, regardless of gender, age, or political party, all Presidents should follow the example set by former President Trump to document and demonstrate sound mental abilities.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhile you underwent your annual physical exam on November 19, 2021, you either did not face a cognitive test or those results were withheld from the public.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Alzheimer\u2019s Association lists \u2018changes in mood and personality,\u2019 including being more \u2018easily upset\u2019 as one of ten signs of mental decline,\u201d they wrote. \u201cYou displayed this type of mood change during a cabinet meeting on January 24, 2022, when you apparently did not know your microphone was on after finishing your opening remarks, and you called a White House reporter a \u2018stupid son of a b\u2014-\u2019 in response to a question he asked on inflation.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><em>Joseph Curl has covered politics for 35 years, including 12 years as White House correspondent, and ran the Drudge Report from 2010 to 2015.
