Ron DeSantis (R) emphasized on Monday, explaining that his goal is to have every child in the Sunshine State know that they are a \u201cFloridian and an American.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Speaking in Miami, where he <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/GovRonDeSantis\/videos\/295964809265972\">held<\/a> a roundtable discussion on President Biden\u2019s border crisis, DeSantis briefly spoke about Florida\u2019s strong stance against CRT being taught in schools.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"D-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"gmxrevmore\" class=\"H\"><\/figure>\n<p>\u201cOne of the reasons we\u2019re opposing CRT in schools: We want all the kids treated as individuals. We want them judged on the content of their character, on their talents,\u201d he explained.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe don\u2019t want them separated into racial groups and pitted against each other. Every single kid is a Floridian and an American. and that\u2019s what we want to make sure,\u201d the governor continued.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnd we\u2019ve got to stop dividing people. Indeed, Florida law should provide parents with the right to review the curriculum used in their children\u2019s schools,\u201d he&nbsp;continued.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe should provide parents with recourse so that state standards are enforced, such as Florida\u2019s prohibition on infusing subjects with critical race theory in our classrooms,\u201d he added, pointing to Florida mothers who have stood together to speak out against \u201cdivisive ideologies like CRT.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThese moms are standing up for a principle that is the policy of the state of Florida: Our tax dollars should not be used to teach our kids to hate our country or to hate each other,\u201d DeSantis stressed.<\/p>\n<p>Notably, CRT <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/politics\/2021\/11\/03\/critical-race-theory-top-issue-virginia-election-democrats-insist-isnt-real\/\">stood<\/a> as one of the top issues in Virginia\u2019s governor\u2019s race, resulting in Gov.
