Nancy Pelosi\u2019s (D-CA)&nbsp;continued speakership past the November midterms due to redistricting foibles.<\/p>\n<p>While Pelosi maintains the gavel by five district seats throughout the nation, Missouri state Republican senators on Tuesday&nbsp;have&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.news-leader.com\/story\/news\/politics\/2022\/02\/08\/missouri-senate-filibuster-keeps-redistricting-map-issue-unresolved-congressional-republican-vote\/6693229001\/\">filibustered<\/a>&nbsp;an initiative to nix a U.S.&nbsp;Democrat House seat. The establishment Republicans, who have a supermajority in the Senate, are blocking a redistricting map that would favor Republicans 7-1, instead of 6-2.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"D-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"gmxrevmore\" class=\"H\"><\/figure>\n<p>Missouri\u2019s House sent the 7-1 map to the Senate last month, but establishment Missouri Senate Republicans are&nbsp;doing their best&nbsp;to <a href=\"https:\/\/missouriindependent.com\/2022\/02\/08\/filibuster-continues-after-missouri-senate-rejects-7-1-redistricting-plan\/\">block<\/a> Republicans from gaining a U.S. House seat, thereby&nbsp;reducing&nbsp;the likelihood Pelosi&nbsp;loses&nbsp;the U.S. House gavel.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFourteen Republicans, including Senate leadership, joined 10 Democrats in rejecting the proposal, with members of the Conservative Caucus and Sen. Paul Wieland, R-Imperial, voting in favor,\u201d according to the Missouri Independent.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cLawmakers face the impending candidate filing period, which begins in a little over two weeks on Feb. 22 and lasts through March 29,\u201d according to the outlet.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<p>The establishment Republicans in Missouri are just one more example of Republicans in state legislatures hindering the GOP from retaking the U.S. House of Representatives.<\/p>\n<p>In New York State, 15 Republican Assembly members last week legitimized the Democrats\u2019 gerrymandered maps. A lawsuit was filed to defeat the gerrymandered map, but the assemblymen likely&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/politics\/2022\/02\/05\/republican-lawsuit-accuses-ny-democrats-of-gerrymandering-maps-as-15-assembly-republicans-legitimized-brazen-process\/\">legitimized<\/a>&nbsp;the process the lawsuit alleges was illegal. Breitbart News reported:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>Gavin Wax, president of the Young Republican Club, told Breitbart News the treacherous deal was made behind closed doors,&nbsp;led by Minority Leader William Barclay. \u201cThe maps could have been prevented from becoming law if the 15 Republicans in the Assembly had fought instead of betraying their constituents,\u201d Wax said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe betrayal might have set the stage for further defeat in the courts,\u201d Wax continued. \u201cIf the 15 Assembly Republicans had fought like their Senate colleagues, we would have had a better chance of defeating these maps in the courts.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The establishment media has picked up on the Republicans\u2019 lack of willingness to fight for their constituents. In December, the&nbsp;<em>New York Magazine&nbsp;<\/em><a href=\"https:\/\/nymag.com\/intelligencer\/2021\/12\/democrats-are-doing-weirdly-well-in-redistricting.html\">reported<\/a> that Democrats were doing \u201cweirdly well\u201d in nationwide redistricting battles.<\/p>\n<p class=\"story-text__paragraph\">Last week, David Wasserman, senior editor of the Cook Political Report, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/politics\/2022\/02\/04\/redistricting-expert-republicans-losing-to-democrats-nationwide-redistricting-battle\/\">suggested<\/a>&nbsp;Democrats have&nbsp;taken&nbsp;a two- to three-seat advantage in the redistricting battle, where Republicans were expected to dominate.<\/p>\n<p class=\"story-text__paragraph\">The establishment Republicans have likely been impacted by former President Barack Obama\u2019s one-time attorney general, Eric Holder, who has successfully <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/politics\/2022\/02\/05\/republicans-defeated-eric-holders-nationwide-gerrymandering-plot\/\">thwarted<\/a> Republican state lawmakers via the court system.&nbsp;Holder\u2019s success is a result of his \u201csue to blue\u201d strategy, which he&nbsp;implemented&nbsp;after Obama took devastating losses in the 2010 redistricting cycle, the&nbsp;<em>Wall Street Journal<\/em>&nbsp;reported.<\/p>\n<p class=\"story-text__paragraph\">According to <em>Politico<\/em>, about 75 congressional districts in seven states will be settled in the Courts nationwide.<\/p>\n<p><em>Follow Wendell Huseb\u00f8 on <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/WendellHusebo?ref_src=twsrc%5Egoogle%7Ctwcamp%5Eserp%7Ctwgr%5Eauthor\">Twitter<\/a>&nbsp;<\/em>and <em><a href=\"https:\/\/gettr.com\/user\/wendellhusebo\">Gettr<\/a>&nbsp;@WendellHuseb\u00f8<\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Establishment Republicans in Missouri\u2019s Senate are caving to Rep.
