Global News <a href=\"https:\/\/globalnews.ca\/news\/8603039\/ottawa-tow-trucks-freedom-convoy\/\">reported<\/a> that the demonstrations are headed into the second week of protest.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"D-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"gmxrevmore\" class=\"H\"><\/figure>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019ve contacted them all and they\u2019re all refusing \u2026 to provide heavy tow truck work,\u201d Kanellakos said in a press conference. However, he explained that the tow truck&nbsp;operators are still doing&nbsp;\u201clight\u201d work, not&nbsp;heavy trucks and larger vehicles.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<p>\u201cMany of them or most of them don\u2019t want to do the work, especially the heavy tow truck work, because they rely on the heavy truck industry for their livelihood and they don\u2019t want to damage that part of their business,\u201d Kanellakos explained.<\/p>\n<p>The city\u2019s mayor, Jim Watson, has reportedly been in touch and asked for resources from city officials in&nbsp;Toronto, Brampton, and other Ontario cities, according to&nbsp;Kanellakos. He also explained that the problems removing the \u201cFreedom Convoy\u201d are happening all over and not \u201can Ottawa-only problem.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Local police Deputy Chief Steve Bell, not willing to share the specifics, said that the police are trying to find&nbsp;\u201ccreative solutions\u201d to remove&nbsp;demonstrators since they do not have any&nbsp;cooperation from tow truck companies.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are coming towards a position where we\u2019re not going to let the tow truck operators, and the ability to tow those vehicles out of there, be an obstacle to ending what\u2019s occurring,\u201d Bell said.<\/p>\n<p>The top city officials noted that the&nbsp;city is reviewing its contract with the tow truck operators in order to see&nbsp;\u201cwhat actions we can take to deal with this unprecedented situation.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><i>Jacob Bliss is a reporter for Breitbart News.
