Musk is supposed to have social media posts that have to do with his electric car company reviewed by a \u201cTwitter sitter,\u201d but has drawn fresh regulatory scrutiny over a Twitter poll asking the public if he should sell 10 percent of his stock holdings in the company, a sale that later did occur.<\/p>\n<p>CNBC <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/2022\/02\/07\/tesla-got-sec-subpoena-over-prior-settlement-agreement.html\">reports<\/a>&nbsp;that according to a recent financial filing from Tesla, the SEC has issued another subpoena to the electric car company. The SEC is attempting to determine whether Elon Musk complied with a settlement agreement from 2019 in which he agreed to have social media posts pertinent to Tesla reviewed by a third party.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"D-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"gmxrevmore\" class=\"H\"><\/figure>\n<div id=\"attachment_17597770\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/Elon-Musk-strikes-a-pose.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-17597770\" src=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/Elon-Musk-strikes-a-pose.jpg\" alt=\"Elon Musk strikes a pose\" width=\"640\" height=\"480\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-caption-text\">Elon Musk strikes a pose (Pool\/Getty)<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>Tesla\u2019s filing states that the SEC is looking for information on Tesla\u2019s \u201cgovernance processes around compliance with the SEC settlement, as amended.\u201d The subpoena comes shortly after Musk <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/tech\/2021\/11\/08\/tesla-shares-fall-5-at-open-after-elon-musk-asks-social-media-if-he-should-sell-10-of-his-stock\/\">asked<\/a> his millions of Twitter followers if he should sell 10 percent of his stake in the electric car maker. The majority of his followers voted yes. Although Musk eventually <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/tech\/2021\/12\/24\/almost-done-elon-musk-sells-more-tesla-stock-now-totaling-15-billion\/\">sold<\/a> a considerable percentage of his shares,&nbsp;many of Musk\u2019s stock sales following the Twitter poll were already planned in September 2021.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">I will abide by the results of this poll, whichever way it goes<\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Elon Musk (@elonmusk) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/elonmusk\/status\/1457066048944066565?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">November 6, 2021<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>In 2018, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/tech\/2018\/09\/29\/reverse-tesla-ceo-elon-musk-accepts-sec-deal\/\">SEC charged Musk with fraud for tweeting that he had \u201cfunding secured\u201d<\/a>&nbsp;to take Tesla private at $420 per share, which sent Tesla\u2019s stock up and down for weeks.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<p>Musk and Tesla eventually settle with an SEC and struck an agreement that called for a legal and regulatory compliance officer at Tesla to pre-approve Musk\u2019s tweets containing information about Tesla that could affect its stock price. Musk was also forced to step down as chairman of the board at Tesla for three years and Musk and Tesla bother had to pay $20 million fines.<\/p>\n<p>Musk has since regularly taken shots at the SEC, making his <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/clips\/2018\/12\/09\/elon-musk-i-have-no-respect-for-the-sec\/\">lack of respect for the commission quite well known<\/a>.
