If adopted, this bill would be the third short-term extension since the fiscal year ended in October 2021; Congress then <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/09\/30\/house-passes-funding-bill-clearing-way-keep-government-open\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">passed a last-minute extension<\/a> through early December, only to <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/12\/02\/rosa-delauro-house-appropriations-congress-deal-senate\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">extend it once again<\/a> through mid-February amid partisan disagreements on several measures.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur country needs a government funding agreement to create good-paying jobs, grow opportunity for the middle class, and protect our national security,\u201d DeLauro, a Democrat from Connecticut, said in a <a href=\"https:\/\/appropriations.house.gov\/news\/press-releases\/delauro-introduces-further-additional-extending-government-funding-act\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">statement<\/a>, adding that appropriators were \u201cclose\u201d to a compromise but needed more time.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis Continuing Resolution \u2013 the product of bipartisan, bicameral negotiation \u2013 extends funding through March 11 to keep government up and running while Congress completes our important work,\u201d DeLauro said. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/12\/01\/republican-objections-to-bidens-vaccine-mandate-could-force-weeklong-government-shutdown-chuck-schumer\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">(RELATED: Republican Objections To Biden\u2019s Vaccine Mandate Could Force Weeklong Government Shutdown)<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The House could potentially pass the bill Tuesday, sending it to the Senate immediately after.
