The county added, however, that it is true students can face suspension for repeated violations of policies implemented in response to the Chinese coronavirus, and if suspended students return to school, they could be cited for trespassing.<\/p>\n<p>School officials say that students who repeatedly refuse to follow coronavirus-related rules, such as wearing a mask, may face suspension, according&nbsp;to a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wusa9.com\/article\/news\/local\/virginia\/no-students-arrested-loudoun-co-public-schools-denies-rumor-of-legal-action-students\/65-2a6bed5d-4d53-42b3-a390-43bbeada4a7c\">report<\/a> by WUSA 9. And if a student returns to school property while suspended, that student could be issued a trespassing notice.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"D-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"gmxrevmore\" class=\"H\"><\/figure>\n<p>\u201cThis is standard practice and a warning that appears on all suspension notices,\u201d Loudoun County Public Schools superintendent Scott Ziegler said.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_18323682\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/DrZiegler_June21.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-18323682\" src=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/DrZiegler_June21.jpg\" alt=\"&quot;Dr. Scott A. Ziegler has served as LCPS\u2019 interim superintendent since January 1 when he was appointed to succeed Dr. Eric Williams.\u201d (LCPS)<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>Ziegler went on to insist that&nbsp;\u201cstudents suspended for defiance of COVID mitigation protocols will not be charged with trespassing,\u201d despite it stating on&nbsp;a maskless student\u2019s suspension letter that the student can be issued a trespassing notice if he or she returns to school without permission.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier this week, a video containing purported audio from the assistant principal of a Loudoun County elementary school was posted to social media, where it went viral.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<p>In the video, the&nbsp;assistant principal can be heard saying that students can be heard warning parents that their children who violate protocols \u201cwill be held in&nbsp;an in-school restriction situation,\u201d until they are picked up, and \u201cwill be considered trespassing\u201d if they return to campus.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cUntil you arrive, your children will be held in an in-school restriction situation here at school,\u201d the alleged Loudoun County assistant principal said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt is important that I point out to you \u2014 stated in the letter that you\u2019ll receive that \u2014 that they are not allowed on campus or on Loudoun County public school property, starting tomorrow, it will be considered trespassing,\u201d she&nbsp; added.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Listen Below:<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">This is audio from the Assistant Principal of a Loudoun County elementary school informing parents that children who come back to school maskless will be charged with \u201ctrespassing\u201d <\/p>\n<p>In Virginia, trespassing is a Class I felony that holds a 12-month jail sentence or $2,500 fine <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/lawXgLIfI5\">pic.twitter.com\/lawXgLIfI5<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Chrissy Clark (@chrissyclark_) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/chrissyclark_\/status\/1488955682640601088?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">February 2, 2022<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B3\" class=\"a8d adSo\"><\/figure>\n<p>A spokesperson Loudoun County, however, told WUSA 9 that&nbsp;trespassing charges are not common. Ziegler added that no students have been arrested as a result of returning to school while under suspension.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cLCPS does not have the authority to arrest or charge any suspended students or their parents for trespassing,\u201d he said. \u201cFurthermore, LCPS has not requested that local law enforcement charge any student with trespassing in connection with recent suspensions.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>A spokesperson for Loudoun County told WUSA 9 that&nbsp;students who do not wear masks may be suspended for up to ten days, and that the suspension would be for \u201cwillful or continued disobedience of school rules.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He added that while suspended students are not allowed on campus, they can still come back at any time before those ten days are up, as long as they comply with mask rules.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI want to emphasize that, despite some unverified reports in the media, no students have been arrested for trespassing,\u201d Ziegler said. \u201cMedia accounts stating that LCPS is arresting students are not accurate and create fear and potential harm for our students.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe want to assure the community that our primary goal is to keep students in school, learning, and safe,\u201d the&nbsp;Loudoun County Public Schools superintendent added.<\/p>\n<p>The Loudoun County School Board reportedly voted 8-1 in favor of keeping students in masks, despite an executive order from Virginia Gov.
