\/><\/div>\n<p class=\"subheading\">A sudden flurry of resignations at 10 Downing Street over recent controversies surrounding the Prime Minister has prompted doomsday predictions for Boris Johnson.<\/p>\n<p>Downing Street has recently been hit by a surge of resignations, with five officials resigning from their posts in two days.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"D-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"gmxrevmore\" class=\"H\"><\/figure>\n<p>It comes as doubts are once again raised regarding the future of UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson, with some pundits predicting a possible doomsday for the PM\u2019s premiership.<\/p>\n<p>According to a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/politics\/2022\/feb\/04\/another-adviser-reportedly-quits-after-meltdown-day-at-no-10\">report<\/a> by&nbsp;<em>The Guardian<\/em>, four key officials \u2014&nbsp;Munira Mirza, Dan Rosenfield, Jack Doyle and Martin Reynolds \u2014 left their posts in No 10 on Thursday, with one more,&nbsp;Elena Narozanski, quitting on Friday.<\/p>\n<p>Of those who have left their positions, a number were involved in the recent \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/europe\/2022\/01\/31\/bojo-partygate-report-serious-failures-by-govt-to-follow-its-own-lockdown-rules\/\">partygate<\/a>\u201d scandal, involving alleged gatherings which reportedly broke lockdown regulations.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<p>This includes Johnson\u2019s former Principal Private Secretary, Martin Reynolds, who came under fire after inviting staff to a \u201cbring their own booze\u201d event, a gathering that is now being investigated by London\u2019s Metropolitan Police.<\/p>\n<p>Another aide, however, policy chief Munira Mirza, has <a href=\"https:\/\/news.sky.com\/story\/munira-mirza-boris-johnsons-policy-chief-quits-over-use-of-jimmy-savile-slur-against-sir-keir-starmer-12532074\">claimed<\/a> to have left her post over recent allegations made by the Prime Minister against Keir Starmer, the leader of the leftist labour party.<\/p>\n<p>During a sitting of parliament on Monday, Johnson <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/europe\/2022\/01\/31\/im-sorry-boris-contrite-in-face-of-partygate-report-but-comes-out-swinging-for-starmer\/\">accused<\/a> Starmer \u2014 who had previously served as the Director of Public Prosecutions \u2014 of \u201cprosecuting journalists and failing to prosecute Jimmy Savile\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI believe it was wrong for you to imply this week that Keir Starmer was personally responsible for allowing Jimmy Savile to escape justice,\u201d Sky News <a href=\"https:\/\/news.sky.com\/story\/munira-mirza-boris-johnsons-policy-chief-quits-over-use-of-jimmy-savile-slur-against-sir-keir-starmer-12532074\">reports<\/a> Mirza as writing in her resignation letter.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere was no fair or reasonable basis for that assertion,\u201d the ex-member of the now-defunct&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/news\/two-top-aides-desert-uks-embattled-johnson\/\">Revolutionary Communist Party<\/a> continued. \u201cThis was not the usual cut and thrust of politics; it was an inappropriate and partisan reference to a horrendous case of child sex abuse.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B3\" class=\"a8d adSo\"><\/figure>\n<p>Johnson has since walked back his comments, clarifying that he was trying to make a point about the responsibility a leader has for an organisation \u2014 perhaps not an unreasonable observation given recent claims about the goings-on at Downing Street under his leadership.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cLet\u2019s be absolutely clear, I\u2019m talking not about the leader of the opposition\u2019s personal record when he was director of public prosecutions and I totally understand that he had nothing to do personally with those decisions,\u201d&nbsp;<em>The Guardian&nbsp;<\/em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/politics\/2022\/feb\/03\/boris-johnson-backtracks-on-comment-that-starmer-failed-to-prosecute-savile\">reported<\/a> Johnson as saying.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI was making a point about his responsibility for the organisation as a whole,\u201d the PM continued. \u201cI really do want to clarify that because it is important.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>While the UK legacy media have reacted with great excitement to the resignations, with claims of rattled MPs and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.newstatesman.com\/politics\/conservatives\/2022\/02\/why-boris-johnson-is-beyond-saving\">doomsday<\/a> predictions being made regarding Johnson\u2019s future, the PM&nbsp;has said to have been in immediate danger of being deposed several times in recent weeks and on each occasion, they appeared less urgent in retrospect.<\/p>\n<p>In one case, amid calls for the PM to resign, the government\u2019s use of \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/europe\/2022\/01\/19\/it-only-took-a-massive-scandal-johnson-announces-end-of-mask-mandate\/\">Operation Red Meat<\/a>\u201d policies appeared to stave off a previous \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/europe\/2022\/01\/19\/pork-pie-putsch-how-some-tories-are-plotting-to-overthrow-boris-johnson\/\">pork pie putsch<\/a>\u201d against his premiership \u2014 at least
