The \u201cWild N Out\u201d star said he took a vow of celibacy after hearing the news and reported feeling \u201cout of control\u201d over the situation.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>The actor said back in October that he was going to \u201cchill out\u201d and try celibacy as a tactic, plus focus on being \u201cthe best father I can be, the best businessman I can be.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>However, news broke recently that Cannon and his model girlfriend Bre Tiesi were expecting a child together, which will be Cannon\u2019s eighth. On an episode of his show this week, Cannon confirmed that he did not break his celibacy promise, but rather decided to commit to it upon finding out Tiesi was expecting.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cMy therapist was one of the [people] who said I should probably be celibate and the reason why is because I had shared that news about Bre being pregnant,\u201d he explained on the show, according to <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/people.com\/parents\/nick-cannon-celibacy-journey-began-after-conceiving-8th-child\/\"><span>People<\/span><\/a><span>. \u201cThat was the reason why I started my celibacy journey back then. So for anyone who\u2019s thinking, \u2018Oh he wasn\u2019t celibate,\u2019 I was!\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Cannon said that after finding out he was expecting his eighth child, he \u201cdidn\u2019t know what to do\u201d and was trying to \u201cget a grasp\u201d on his life.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cI felt like I was out of control and honestly, celibacy did help me through the journey of getting one with myself and being able to deal with this,\u201d the \u201cMasked Singer\u201d host continued. He next admitted that he was \u201cno longer celibate\u201d and didn\u2019t make it to New Year\u2019s as he intended.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Asked how many babies \u201cis enough,\u201d the soon-to-be father of eight <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.complex.com\/pop-culture\/nick-cannon-on-beginning-celibacy-journey-out-of-control-bre-tiesi-pregnancy\"><span>explained<\/span><\/a><span>, \u201cThis is the thing\u2026you can\u2019t be like, \u2018No, I\u2019m done.\u2019 Like, what if God says, \u2018No, you not\u2019? I was always like, \u2018Yo, I want a big family,\u2019 too. So, you know, the Lord has blessed me with what I asked.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Cannon\u2019s other children include 10-year-old twins Moroccan and Monroe with ex-wife Mariah Carey, 4-year-old Golden \u201cSagon\u201d and 13-month-old Powerful Queen, with Brittany Bell, and 7-month-old twins Zion Mixolydian and Zillion Heir with Abby De La Rosa. The actor is still grieving the loss of his five-month-old son Zen, who passed away in December from brain cancer.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Cannon also discussed his hesitation in sharing the news of the new baby following the death of Zen.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>&nbsp;\u201cThis was always in the back of my mind, like, \u2018What is the right time? How do I share this?&#8217;\u201d he said on his talk show. \u201cI wanted to definitely respect the grieving process with [Zen\u2019s mom, Alyssa Scott], and Bre was respectful enough\u2014she held off making our announcements and speaking on social media.\u201d&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cI misspoke and probably went too much into detail on Monday expressing my feelings,\u201d Cannon continued.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cIt felt like I was probably making some comparatives or probably discussing when talking about the passing of my son Zen, and then also talk about the new child that I\u2019m expecting and I didn\u2019t have to do that. I didn\u2019t need to do that because those are two completely separate moments in my life and in life.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Cannon <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/CZZ1JVrrbLQ\"><span>posted<\/span><\/a><span> photos from the gender reveal party to his Instagram page this past weekend.
