Radical left-wing D.A. Chesa Boudin filed charges in December 2020, implying that the officer was racist: \u201cThis case is an example of an officer unnecessarily escalating a situation and then violently beating a Black man whom he had no legal basis to even arrest.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Magen Hayashi, an investigator for the D.A.\u2019s office, testified Thursday that she had signed an affidavit to show probable cause for the prosecution though she excluded evidence from a witness who saw the alleged victim assaulting his girlfriend.<\/p>\n<p>\u2026<\/p>\n<p>The claim that Boudin \u2014 and his predecessor \u2014 withheld evidence is being taken seriously enough by police that Chief William Scott sent an email to officers throughout the department, saying the claim was of \u201cserious concern\u201d to him.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Scott has now <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sfchronicle.com\/sf\/article\/S-F-police-chief-will-no-longer-cooperate-with-16827409.php\">terminated<\/a> the agreement with Boudin\u2019s office, the <i>San Francisco&nbsp;Chronicle&nbsp;<\/i><a href=\"https:\/\/www.sfchronicle.com\/sf\/article\/S-F-police-chief-will-no-longer-cooperate-with-16827409.php\">reported<\/a>,&nbsp;giving 15 days\u2019 notice and allowing Boudin to schedule a meeting to discuss the matter within five days.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<p>Boudin\u2019s office reacted angrily, as did&nbsp;San Francisco Police Commissioner John Hamasaki. A spokesperson for Boudin said that Chief Scott was only terminating the agreement because one of his officers was facing trial \u2014 as anticipated by the deal \u2014 and Commissioner Hamasaki accused Scott of tampering with the jury by creating the public impression that the DA\u2019s prosecution had been improper.<\/p>\n<p>The&nbsp;<em>Chronicle<\/em> added: \u201cBoudin\u2019s office is currently prosecuting six officers in five separate use-of-force cases. The cases underscore what was a key tenet of the progressive prosecutor\u2019s campaign: holding officers accountable for wrongdoing.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Boudin currently faces a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/politics\/2021\/10\/24\/recall-against-radical-san-francisco-da-chesa-boudin-likely-qualifies-for-ballot\/\">recall<\/a> election in June, after being elected in 2019 on promises of criminal justice reform, including a pledge to stop prosecuting \u201cquality of life\u201d crimes like public urination.<\/p>\n<p>He has publicly <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/crime\/2021\/12\/21\/radical-san-francisco-d-a-chesa-boudin-opposes-mayors-crackdown-on-crime\/\">opposed<\/a> Mayor London Breed\u2019s effort to crack down on crime and drugs in the Tenderloin district. He is the son of a member of the terrorist Weather Underground group, who was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/crime\/2021\/08\/24\/andrew-cuomo-grants-clemency-to-former-weather-underground-militant-father-of-san-francisco-da\/\">imprisoned<\/a> for his role in a bank heist in which two police officers and a security guard were murdered.<\/p>\n<p><em>Joel B.
