Joni Mitchell and Neil Young are the only artists mentioned in the post who announced the removal of their catalogs from the music streaming service.<\/p>\n<p><span><strong>Fact Check:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Young, a Canadian-born musician, announced Jan. 24 that he would be asking Spotify to remove his music from the streaming platform due to his belief that the company is \u201cspreading fake information about vaccines,\u201d according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-news\/neil-young-demands-spotify-remove-music-vaccine-disinformation-1290020\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Rolling Stone<\/a>. In particular, he took issue with the presence of comedian Joe Rogan\u2019s \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/open.spotify.com\/show\/4rOoJ6Egrf8K2IrywzwOMk\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">The Joe Rogan Experience<\/a>\u201d podcast, which has been accused of spreading COVID-19 misinformation, the outlet <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/culture\/culture-news\/covid-misinformation-joe-rogan-spotify-petition-1282240\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">reported<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Now, a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/photo?fbid=10225758368481236&amp;set=a.1895407700203\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">post<\/a> shared on Instagram claims Willie Nelson, Bruce Springsteen, Barbra Streisand, Queen, Paul McCartney, The Rolling Stones, Dave Grohl, Joni Mitchell and Pearl Jam are also removing their music from Spotify \u201cin solidarity with Neil Young.\u201d <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/checkyourfact.com\/2021\/04\/06\/fact-check-kanye-west-buy-spotify\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">(RELATED: Did Kanye West Buy Spotify?)<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This claim is misleading. The music of <a href=\"https:\/\/open.spotify.com\/artist\/5W5bDNCqJ1jbCgTxDD0Cb3\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Nelson<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/open.spotify.com\/artist\/3eqjTLE0HfPfh78zjh6TqT\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Springsteen<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/open.spotify.com\/artist\/7jmTilWYlKOuavFfmQAcu6\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Streisand<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/open.spotify.com\/artist\/1dfeR4HaWDbWqFHLkxsg1d\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Queen<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/open.spotify.com\/artist\/4STHEaNw4mPZ2tzheohgXB\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">McCartney<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/open.spotify.com\/artist\/22bE4uQ6baNwSHPVcDxLCe\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">The Rolling Stones<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/open.spotify.com\/artist\/7mRVAzlt1fAAR9Cut6Rq8c\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Grohl<\/a>&nbsp;and <a href=\"https:\/\/open.spotify.com\/artist\/1w5Kfo2jwwIPruYS2UWh56\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Pearl Jam<\/a> is currently still available on the streaming platform, and none of them have announced plans to remove their music as of press time.<\/p>\n<p>Mitchell is the only other artist listed in the Instagram post who has announced her plans to remove her music from Spotify. \u201cI\u2019ve decided to remove all my music from Spotify,\u201d reads a <a href=\"https:\/\/jonimitchell.com\/news\/newsitem.cfm?id=1592\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Jan. 28 statement<\/a> on her website. \u201cIrresponsible people are spreading lies that are costing people their lives. I stand in solidarity with Neil Young and the global scientific and medical communities on this issue.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Other artists, including singer India Arie, singer-songwriter Graham Nash and E Street Band guitarist Nils Lofgren, have also announced their decision to cut ties with Spotify, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.axios.com\/spotify-boycott-list-joe-rogan-neil-young-4c83f90a-0ce9-49b9-8abb-e8d040ac85c8.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Axios<\/a>.
