Elise Stefanik (R-NY) and Rep. Madison Cawthorn (R-NC) both confirmed to Breitbart News on Wednesday they support the growing calls for such a Special Counsel appointment.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"D-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"gmxrevmore\" class=\"H\"><\/figure>\n<p>Their statements come after the <em>New York Post\u2019s<\/em>&nbsp;Editorial Board on Wednesday&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2022\/02\/01\/appoint-a-special-counsel-on-hunter-biden-now\/\">announced<\/a>&nbsp;support for a Special Counsel to investigate Hunter Biden\u2019s and the Biden family\u2019s Chinese business dealings, and after Sen. Marsha Blackburn (R-TN) did so earlier this week in an exclusive interview with Breitbart News.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Bidens have lied about their illegal and unethical conflicts of interest for too long. The evidence of Hunter Biden\u2019s corrupt business dealings, particularly with Communist China, his shady involvement in international affairs and art scandal is mounting, but still the Attorney General shamefully has not called for a special counsel,\u201d&nbsp;Stefanik told Breitbart News.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMake no mistake. This is a problem for Joe Biden and the whole Biden family, and they have been in hiding for too long. They must provide full transparency to the American people,\u201d the third-ranking GOP House member continued.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<p>Cawthorn told Breitbart News he is in favor of&nbsp;public&nbsp;investigation into&nbsp;Hunter after a 2018 investigation by the U.S. attorney\u2019s office in Delaware slowed during the 2020 presidential election.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cJust imagine how the left-wing legacy media would be losing their collective minds if one of President Trump\u2019s sons had engaged in one-tenth of the corruption Hunter Biden has,\u201d Cawthorn told Breitbart News. \u201cWe should absolutely have a special counsel investigate Hunter Biden.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe <em>New York Post<\/em> stood up to censorship, slander, and abuse for simply reporting the Hunter Biden laptop story,\u201d Cawthorn added in reference to&nbsp;former <em>Post<\/em>&nbsp;Deputy Politics Editor and now Breitbart News\u2019 Politics Editor Emma-Jo Morris\u2019s reporting that first&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/radio\/2021\/11\/03\/emma-jo-morris-big-tech-censors-laptop-from-hell-scoops\/?fr=operanews\">broke<\/a> the \u201claptop from hell\u201d story during the 2020 presidential election.<\/p>\n<p>Morris\u2019s reporting on Hunter\u2019s \u201claptop from hell\u201d drove an \u201cawakening\u201d about just how protected President Biden\u2019s son is from public inquiry, especially while the Biden administration controls Washington, DC.<\/p>\n<p>The&nbsp;<em>Post\u2019s<\/em>&nbsp;Wednesday opinion piece slammed President Biden\u2019s Attorney General, Merrick Garland, for not naming a special counsel to investigate Hunter, who seems to be the most protected man in America:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>It\u2019s past time for Garland to explain why he hasn\u2019t named a special counsel.<\/p>\n<p>This idea has been batted around at least since&nbsp;Hunter\u2019s smelly art sales surfaced.&nbsp;And the drip of damning news has only continued: a former business partner&nbsp;\u201cco-operating completely\u201d with the feds; congressional allegations that&nbsp;the Secret Service improperly redacted records&nbsp;relating to Hunter\u2019s travels; news that Hunter\u2019s bank records on his dealings with the Bank of China&nbsp;were subpoenaed in May 2019.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<blockquote>\n<p>That is, the feds have been looking at Hunter since the&nbsp;<em>Obama<\/em>&nbsp;administration. Given all this, Biden should have put the probe under impartial supervision long ago.&nbsp;In between, Justice has managed to fully investigate, for example, everything about then-President Donald Trump\u2019s supposed collusion with Russia \u2014 albeit via a special counsel.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The&nbsp;<em>Post\u2019s<\/em>&nbsp;statement follows reporting by Breitbart News that revealed a 2019 document from the U.S. Attorney\u2019s office in Delaware.
