(AP Photo\/Mary Altaffer)<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"attachment_4935561\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><a href=\"https:\/\/media.breitbart.com\/media\/2016\/08\/Georgetown-University-Alex-WongGetty.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-4935561\" src=\"https:\/\/media.breitbart.com\/media\/2016\/08\/Georgetown-University-Alex-WongGetty.jpg\" alt=\"Georgetown University\" width=\"640\" height=\"480\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-caption-text\">Georgetown University (Alex Wong\/Getty)<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>Shapiro, a libertarian who was a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cato.org\/people\/ilya-shapiro\">vice president<\/a> of the Cato Institute, was scheduled to begin his role as executive director and senior lecturer of the Georgetown Center for the Constitution on Tuesday, but was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/tech\/2022\/02\/01\/georgetown-suspends-law-prof-ilya-shapiro-over-tweet-against-bidens-affirmative-action-scotus-nomination\/\">placed on administrative leave<\/a> Monday pending the&nbsp;outcome of an investigation into his tweets.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<p>In his tweets,&nbsp;Shapiro had&nbsp;suggested that Biden nominate Sri Srinivasan, the Indian-born chief judge on the Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia, to replace Justice Stephen Breyer on the U.S. Supreme Court, and commented that choosing a Supreme Court nominee based solely on race and gender would make it so that she \u201cwill always have an asterisk attached.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Law students became outraged over these comments, with one calling on the university to implement a designated crying room on campus, for students to go to when they \u201cneed to break down,\u201d according to a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nationalreview.com\/corner\/georgetown-law-students-stage-sit-in-demand-dean-fire-ilya-shapiro\/\">report<\/a> by National Review.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIs there an office they can go to?\u201d the student asked. \u201cI don\u2019t know what it would look like, but if they want to cry, if they need to break down, where can they go? Because we\u2019re at a point where students are coming out of class to go to the bathroom to cry.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>And administrators reportedly took this inquiry seriously.
