A number of airlines, including&nbsp;American,&nbsp;United&nbsp;and&nbsp;Delta Air Lines&nbsp;issued waivers allowing travelers who may be affected by the storm to rebook their trips at no extra cost.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Flight Aware <a href=\"https:\/\/uk.flightaware.com\/live\/cancelled\/\">reported<\/a> as of 11:36a.m. EST:&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><em>Total delays today: 3,144<\/em><br \/><em>Total delays within, into, or out of the United States today: 904<\/em><br \/><em>Total cancellations today: 2,794<\/em><br \/><em>Total cancellations within, into, or out of the United States today: 1,646<\/em><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">\u201cThis winter storm will bring a variety of winter weather hazards, including heavy snow, sleet, and freezing rain,\u201d the National Weather Service said in a Wednesday update, per NBC.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">According to the service, the storm is expected to be \u201cprolonged with several rounds of winter weather lasting through Thursday for portions of the central U.S. before shifting to the interior Northeast.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">The weather service also <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wpc.ncep.noaa.gov\/discussions\/hpcdiscussions.php?disc=pmdspd\">noted<\/a> that \u201c[l]ocations impacted by snow and or ice are expected to have temperatures remain below freezing and well below average for at least a couple of days after the wintry precipitation ends. The cold temperatures will be due to the emergence of arctic high pressure, which will descend over the Plains on Wednesday.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">It stated that the high pressure will direct \u201cvery frigid air down through the Plains between today and Friday,\u201d adding that the high temperature for many areas across the Plains \u201cwill be between 15-25 degrees below average during this period.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">It added that the \u201ceastern third of the country will warm up a bit out ahead of the cold front associated with the winter storm.\u201d Temperatures will become less extreme when the cold front passes on Friday night.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">There also might be high levels of rainfall in the warm areas of the storm system. &nbsp;<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Heavy snow is expected to fall in the \u201cSouthern Rockies and from the Southern\/Central Plains and the Middle Mississippi Valley through the Great Lakes\/Ohio Valley and Interior Northeast. A corridor of heavy ice (rain\/freezing rain) accumulation is likely from Texas through the Ohio River Valley.\u201d&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">The NWS Weather Prediction Center <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/NWSWPC\/status\/1488844737754931202\">tweeted<\/a> about the storm on Wednesday morning:<\/p>\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">In addition to widespread, significant wintry precipitation, very chilly and much below normal temperatures will spread throughout central and eastern portions of the country. Temperatures will slowly begin to moderate through the weekend, but remain below normal for many places. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/KGRQAZwSX9\">pic.twitter.com\/KGRQAZwSX9<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 NWS Weather Prediction Center (@NWSWPC) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/NWSWPC\/status\/1488844737754931202?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">February 2, 2022<\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">As The New York Times <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2022\/02\/02\/us\/winter-storm-warning-snow.html\">reported<\/a>, Illinois, Missouri, and Oklahoma governors announced emergency efforts on Tuesday before the storm came to the areas.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn Michigan, nine to 16 inches of snow was expected, through late Thursday night, the Weather Service announced,\u201d the Times noted.<\/p>\n<p>ABC News <a href=\"https:\/\/abcnews.go.com\/US\/major-winter-storm-strikes-denver-dallas-heading-northeast\/story?id=82620887\">reported<\/a> that \u201cMore than 1 foot of snow is expected from northern Missouri into Illinois, Indiana, Ohio and Michigan.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"p5\">NBC noted that as of early on Wednesday morning, around 4 inches of snow had already come to the Chicago area, with more expected to fall.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p class=\"p5\">\u201cOverall, snowfall totals of 6 to 12 inches are possible for the Windy City, as well as in Kansas City, St. Louis, Indianapolis, Detroit, Cleveland, Buffalo and Burlington,\u201d the outlet added.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\">The Daily Wire is one of America\u2019s fastest-growing conservative media companies and counter-cultural outlets for news, opinion, and entertainment.
