Roger Wicker, who asked for another hearing over discrepancies between her testimony during her first hearing in December and a confidential agreement to settle a lawsuit by broadcasters. In addition, Sohn\u2019s committee vote, which was initially scheduled for Wednesday, will be delayed, in part due to Democratic New Mexico Sen. Ben Ray Lujan <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2022\/02\/01\/ben-ray-lujan-new-mexico-stroke\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">suffering<\/a> a stroke earlier Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p>Sohn\u2019s second hearing was first <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/politics\/bidens-fcc-pick-gigi-sohn-committee-vote-gets-pulled\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">reported<\/a> by Fox News. The hearing is partly in response to concerns held by Senate Commerce Committee members over Sohn\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/12\/13\/gigi-sohn-federal-communications-commission-locast-jon-tester-kyrsten-sinema\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">involvement<\/a> with an illegal streaming service, according to a person familiar with the matter. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/11\/12\/gigi-sohn-federal-communications-commission-ron-johnson-marsha-blackburn\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">(RELATED: Biden\u2019s FCC Nominee Gigi Sohn Wants To \u2018Silence Dissent,\u2019 Top Senate Republicans Say)<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_6277758\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\">\n<p id=\"caption-attachment-6277758\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Sen. The organization was shut down in October 2021 after broadcasters sued and a judge ruled the service to be in violation of copyright law, requiring it to pay $32 million in damages.<\/p>\n<p>However, one day after she was nominated, Sohn <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2022\/01\/26\/gigi-sohn-fcc-locast-roger-wicker-joe-biden\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">cut<\/a> a confidential favorable deal with broadcasters, whom she would be tasked with regulating if confirmed, to lower her liability to a fraction of the previous amount. Following news of the confidential arrangement, Sohn recused herself from certain broadcast issues, prompting <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nexttv.com\/news\/isps-have-problem-with-sohn-recusals\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">criticism<\/a> from telecommunications groups.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cQuestions about Ms. Sohn\u2019s potential conflicts of interest have been dismissed as without merit by the White House and Ms. Sohn\u2019s friends in the telecommunications advocacy community. Now comes this unprecedented recusal,\u201d Wicker said in a statement at the time, shared with the Daily Caller News Foundation. \u201cThe FCC is too important to have a commissioner who cannot serve in a significant capacity.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Arizona Sen.
