Mark Green (R-Tenn.) said Friday.<\/p>\n<p>Green and other House Republicans recently urged the Senate to delay Gina Raimondo\u2019s nomination because she refused to say Huawei would remain on the Department of Commerce\u2019s Entity List, where it and 68 affiliates were placed during the Trump administration because of national security concerns.<\/p>\n<p>Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) then <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theepochtimes.com\/cruz-places-hold-on-confirming-bidens-commerce-secretary-pick-to-pressure-admin-on-huawei_3685858.html\">placed a hold<\/a> on the nomination over her reluctance to commit on the Huawei matter.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI hope that Senator Cruz will hold on until they give, not assurances that they\u2019re going to consider it, but assurances that they won\u2019t allow Huawei to be a part of those networks in the United States,\u201d Green said on NTD\u2019s \u201cThe Nation Speaks.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThat\u2019s really what we want to hear. And that\u2019s what the list does. The list has companies that basically can\u2019t do business in the United States and with other companies inside the United States, protecting our national security,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p>Major companies based in China are tied to the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and are compelled,\u00a0even if executives resist, to share information with the regime.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHuawei is not necessarily a state-owned enterprise, but the CCP passed a law, their national intelligence law in 2017, that requires every single company in China to share their data and their information, anything that relates to intelligence, which is defined by the CCP, with the government, with with the Communist Party. So that puts all of our data at risk,\u201d Green said.<\/p>\n<p>The Pentagon <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theepochtimes.com\/pentagon-names-20-chinese-companies-as-backed-by-chinese-military_3401480.html\">last year<\/a> listed Huawei as one of 20 companies backed by the Chinese military.<\/p>\n<p>Huawei has big ambitions, particularly in the 5G arena. The company has tried or successfully won bids for contracts to build out networks for the fifth generation technology in countries around the world, but its efforts have faced <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theepochtimes.com\/us-turns-tide-on-huawei-ending-ccps-5g-master-plan_3636682.html\">stiff opposition in the United States<\/a>\u00a0and other Western powers. Sweden, for instance, banned Huawei and China-based ZTE from bidding to build its 5G networks.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-3323975\" src=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/GettyImages-1206551838.jpg\" alt=\"Epoch Times Photo\" width=\"1024\" height=\"683\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Rep. (Drew Angerer\/Getty Images)<\/p>\n<p>Huawei has fought against the U.S. government\u2019s designations, filing lawsuits and alleging the blacklisting impacts its right to compete in a free market.<\/p>\n<p>Huawei this week sued the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) over its labeling of the company as a national security threat, alleging the commission exceeded its statutory authority, violating federal law and the U.S. Constitution.<\/p>\n<p>In its filing to the U.S. Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals, obtained by The Epoch Times, the company wrote, \u201cThe order on review potentially impacts the financial interests of the telecommunications industry as a whole, including manufacturers, end users, and service providers in a broad range of industries, such as Internet, cellular and landline telephone, and similar telecommunications applications.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The FCC told news outlets: \u201cLast year the FCC issued a final designation identifying Huawei as a national security threat based on a substantial body of evidence developed by the FCC and numerous U.S. national security agencies.\u00a0We will continue to defend that decision.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Green said he hopes the judge hearing the case \u201cwill dig into it\u201d and \u201cunderstand that threat that\u2019s there, and really understand what 5G is.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt will allow information, the synchronization of information and data over the networks in an exponential fashion that\u2019s going to make\u2014you think about BeiDou, and the GPS system that the Chinese have set up, all of that information will go straight into those satellites,\u201d he said. \u201cIt\u2019s going to be an incredible penetration into our data systems.
