He added,&nbsp;\u201cThe House managers spoke about rhetoric, about a constant drumbeat of heated language\u2026we need to show you some of their own words.\u201d He then turned to a <a href=\"http:\/\/WASHINGTON,%20DC%20-%20FEBRUARY%2012:%20David%20Schoen,%20lawyer%20for%20former%20President%20Donald%20Trump,%20walks%20from%20the%20Senate%20floor%20through%20the%20Senate%20Reception%20room%20on%20the%20fourth%20day%20of%20the%20Senate%20Impeachment%20trials%20for%20former%20President%20Donald%20Trump%20on%20Capitol%20Hill%20on%20February%2012,%202021%20in%20Washington,%20DC.%20Trump&#039;s%20defense%20lawyers%20will%20present%20their%20case%20on%20Friday,%20where%20his%20legal%20team%20will%20argue%20that%20he%20should%20be%20acquitted%20of%20inciting%20an%20insurrection.%20(Photo%20by%20Jabin%20Botsford%20-%20Pool\/Getty%20Images)\">video montage<\/a> of Democrats and celebrities talking about punching Trump, \u201ctak[ing] [Trump] out,\u201d \u201cput[ting] a bullet in Donald Trump,\u201d \u201cblowing up the White House,\u201d \u201cgetting up in the face of congresspeople,\u201d and more.<\/p>\n<p>Vice President Kamala Harris, during an appearance on \u201cThe Ellen DeGeneres Show,\u201d is shown being asked by Degeneres if she would rather be \u201cstuck in an elevator with either President Trump, Mike Pence, or Jeff Sessions.\u201d Harris responds, \u201cDoes one of us have to come out alive?\u201d and the host and guest break out in laughter.<\/p>\n<p>It appeared as if there was going to be a break in the display of evidence as the news cameras focused on Schoen. But then the attorney added, \u201cThere\u2019s more,\u201d and the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=XG5BcU1ZGiA\">footage<\/a> continued, showing similarly aggressive language used by Democrats, this time with the words \u201cfight\u201d and \u201cfighting\u201d spoken by various politicians.<\/p>\n<p>Schoen appeared to use this not to claim the Democrats were wrong in how they spoke, but rather to demonstrate that former President Trump was using typical political rhetoric when he spoke to the crowds on January 6.<\/p>\n<p>When the video ended, Schoen explained this purpose. He turned to the people in the room who appeared in the videos and said, \u201cThat\u2019s okay. You didn\u2019t do anything wrong. It\u2019s a word people use. But please stop the hypocrisy.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>On Thursday morning, Schoen spoke with Fox News\u2019 Laura Ingraham about his disapproval of the Democrats\u2019 tactics throughout the hearings.<\/p>\n<p>As reported by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.forbes.com\/sites\/jemimamcevoy\/2021\/02\/11\/trumps-impeachment-lawyer-accuses-democrats-of-playing-to-the-camera-with-emotional-jan-6-footage\/?sh=64daa93f2c7c&amp;utm_source=TWITTER&amp;utm_medium=social&amp;utm_content=4483483038&amp;utm_campaign=sprinklrForbesMainTwitter\">Forbes<\/a>, he commented on the violent footage from the riots on January 6 that the Democrats showed, saying:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p><em>\u201c\u2018They are clearly playing to the cameras, playing to the public, all of the time. \u2026 It\u2019s continuing to open wounds for the American public,\u2019 said Schoen, who added that it\u2019s a \u2018pretty good bet\u2019 the Trump team\u2019s defense will show similarly compelling and emotional video in efforts to portray the Democrats as hypocrites.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>His hint that the defense might bring forward similar documentation came to fruition on Friday as the defense concluded their presentation.
