Ron DeSantis over President Joe Biden.<\/p>\n<p>In a potential matchup against Biden, DeSantis leads 52%-44% while Trump\u2019s potential victory sweep over the current president is a much narrower margin of 47%-44%, according to the Suffolk University\/USA TODAY Network <a href=\"https:\/\/www.usatoday.com\/story\/news\/politics\/2022\/02\/01\/poll-biden-struggling-florida-2024\/9282357002\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">poll<\/a>. Amongst those polled, 57% said they disapproved of Biden\u2019s handling of the economy and 58% of those polled said the country is headed down the wrong path.<\/p>\n<p>The poll also created a hypothetical matchup should former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton launch a bid in 2024, with voters showing Biden would beat out Clinton 46%-43%, raising concern for some Democrats. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2022\/01\/06\/biden-approval-rating-sinks-civiqs-poll-24-independents\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">(RELATED: POLL: Biden\u2019s Approval Rating Crashes To 24% With Independents)<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u201cThat\u2019s something that\u2019s got to give President Biden pause and other potential Democratic challengers pause,\u201d director of the Suffolk University Political Research Center David Paleologos said, according to the report.<\/p>\n<p>Seventy-one-year-old Thomas Murphy, a Republican respondent, told USA TODAY that Biden is \u201ca disaster\u201d and \u201chas no leadership skills.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Biden\u2019s approval rating has been steadily declining, with a recent <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2022\/01\/12\/joe-biden-approval-rating-quinnipiac-covid-19-afghanistan\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Quinnipiac University poll<\/a> finding his approval rating is 33%. That rating is down 3% when compared to a November 2021 <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/12\/01\/poll-joe-biden-approval-rating-trafalgar-group\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">poll<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Voters have been critical of Biden\u2019s handling of the <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/12\/21\/cnn-poll-biden-economic-ratings-jimmy-carter\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">economy<\/a>, the pandemic, the <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2022\/01\/28\/the-american-people-are-being-betrayed-rep-roy-rips-biden-admin-for-border-crisis\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">border crisis<\/a> and foreign policy.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A new poll released Tuesday showed that a majority of Florida\u2019s voters prefer former President Donald Trump or Republican Gov.
