Michael Cloud (R) took part in the investigation into the ATF\u2019s record collection and is warning that the Biden administration could use the accumulated information to launch a gun registry:<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<blockquote>\n<p>A federal firearm registry is explicitly banned by law. Yet, the Biden administration is again circumventing Congress and enabling the notably corrupt ATF to manage a database of nearly a billion gun transfer records\u2026Under the president\u2019s watch, the ATF has increased surveillance on American gun owners at an abhorrent level. The Biden administration continues to empower criminals and foreign nationals while threatening the rights of law-abiding Americans. It\u2019s shameful and this administration should reconsider its continued attacks on American gun owners.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The ATF continues to maintain that the stockpiling of firearm purchase and transfer data is strictly \u201cto trace firearms used in crimes.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Biden pushed universal background checks while campaigning for the presidency and has continued to push such checks while occupying the White House.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Nearly Half of New Gun Buyers Are Women <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/je80eDZtHu\">pic.twitter.com\/je80eDZtHu<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Breitbart News (@BreitbartNews) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/BreitbartNews\/status\/1442228834921861120?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">September 26, 2021<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The \u201cGun Safety\u201d portion of Biden\u2019s campaign website <a href=\"https:\/\/joebiden.com\/gunsafety\/\">said<\/a>:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>Biden will enact universal background check legislation, requiring a background check for all gun sales with very limited exceptions, such as gifts between close family members.
